Wilco or PSS 777

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

I am wanting to spend some of my birthday money on a 777. Should I go in and get the wilco/feelthere 777 or wait for PSS(phoenix) to get their fsx model out? And what would be the expected price for the PSS one and when should it be released? If it would be alot cheaper to get the wilco one then...

I have checked reviews on both and swaying towards the PSS model

Also if there is an alternative

I only have FSX.
Thanks
James

I've heard negative comments about the PSS 777.
One guy on the UVA forums said he wouldn't recommend it.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Hmmmm I'm not really willing to spend that much money on an aircraft (I know its great quallity though). I should have said earlier that i'm willling to spend around $40 nz so the Wilco 777 is about that.

Can i get the 767 for around that or is $50 U.S the cheapest?

Would PMDG 747x be a good option? I can't find anywhere where I can buy it though.(it is released, isn't it?)

EDIT: ok just found out that it is being released in november

I think from what you described the PMDG 747 will be way out of your price range.
The current version is still around $100!

Phoenix Simulations do an excellent 2D panel, and a passable model and VC (at least historically). I've found the older Wilco products to have a bad 2D panel, but better VC and decent model. I hear what a lot of people do is merge the Meljet 777 model with the PSS panel. winkyy.gif

So whats a merge? do they combine them together or just put a panel on a different a/c?

Yeah what Alex said the PSS Panel with the Wilco model.
Personally (judging from various videos and reviews) the Meljet model looks better externally.
Didn't benwyn get the PSS 777?

Hey Guys,

Wilco and PSS Models both suck- But you should really get the PSS or Wilco and Merge is with Meljet, or if you have it- Overland- Thats what I do!

Would it be possible to add the panel and v/c to meljet? If so which one has the best cockpit? I like the Meljet 777 but can't stand not having a v/c.
Is the Overland Fly Airliners fully worth it? I may consider that if its worth it

Overland is really only a good model- The Panel and Virtual Cockpit are abit shabby. Why do you need a VC anyway? If so the Wilco model isnt that bad so you might be able to pull through with that!

Thanks for the response. I will consider If I should get lots of models or If I go with just a 777.

Where could I get some freeware 777 guages? I like the look of the wilco and pss ones but the ones of the overland ones are horrible!!!
I had a quick look on avsim but not much luck on fs9.

There are no good 777 freeware guages avaible, you would have to go for payware if you want a good guages. From what I have heard about the Wilco 777 its far more on the visual side of things than systems, with the exterior being the most detailed. If your after realistic systems then I would agree with Ian about going with the 763 instead.

Thanks

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'll go with the Wilco 777 as I'm not into systems that much, and I still a newbie. Next year I'll probably get the ld767 on my own credit card. I wouldn't be able to get it anyway because if I asked my dad he would be all like"whats it add?" or "whats it do?" "it doesn't seem worth it for one thing"
