A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby victor_alpha_charlie » Mon Oct 15, 2007 5:22 pm

Yep Pretty much what it says. It might just take off
I'll start off with this, one of the Area 51 'Janets' having an exciting approach to KLAX.

Is there any way we can post them to show up in our posts?

EDIT BY ADMIN: Right click on your aircraft photograph to bring up the image menu, then click properties and then copy the http:// address, (eg http://www.airliners.net/photos/middle/1/3/1/0411131.jpg. Open your photobucket account and click the 'web url' tab, paste the URL and click upload- as seen here:

Then copy the IMG tag into your post.

I'm sure this is a fake, photoshopped to remove the gear.

It can't be. Airliners.net wouldn't allow it otherwise. They are actually very strict

I know , but there are just too many factors against the shot. The fact it is exactly on the taxiway centreline at the attitude it would taxi (not fly) make me think its wrong. Look at the wing angle of attack etc. Its just not right.

one problem with the photoshop theory:

No shadow where the landing gear is and that would be hard to remove and make it look perfect.

Some of the 460+ comments under the image might shine some light on the issue. From what I can see, he's going pretty damn fast to stay level with that AoA, or its been edited - I think. winkyy.gif

It has. smile.gif The discussion ends if you do a search, you will find at least 4 other photos from different angles by different photographers of the same low pass. The angle that one is taken from possibly makes it look a little lower than it really is, but based on the other photos he was still pretty damn low.

But it's not.. It's off to the side of the runway, why would it be taxiing there, half in the grass?

I've got so many favourites, but I'll just post a quick selection here:

Also, for the best NZ pics, look through Rob Neils album:
http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=true

P.S. Please read the new rules in the first post concerning image posts in this thread, and please keep them at the medium 640px wide resolution!

Also, there is already a simular two page topic about this here: http://nzff.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1126 (but it isn't as good as this one tongue.gif )
