November Screenshot Competition

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Postby ardypilot » Wed Oct 31, 2007 9:16 pm

This month, a member called 'trihelm' aka Rick from the UK, has donated a brand new Flight1 CD-ROM as the prize for this month's screenshot competition. This means that the person who wins with the best screenshot this time around will receive the 'Ultimate Airliners Super80' payware addon which can be viewed at Flight1.com, valued at $52 (NZ) ... Now that's an incentive for you all to enter!

Here is our 19th monthly Screenshot Competition, which is free to enter for all the members of NZFF*

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be as close as possible to 984 pixels wide- read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high res version saved on your computer as the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert it into a site banner!

3) Also remember, try and make your shout suitable for a thin rectangular banner. Think about that what positioning your aircraft and camera angles etc.

4) Images can be submitted from November 1st to November 30th 2007, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one (by pressing the edit button, to the top right of your post. Please don't make new posts saying you have edited your original post as this makes the thread cluttered).

5) On November 30th, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the 'Super80' prize!

6) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

7) This month's theme is 'Mean Machines', be creative!

* As we are offering payware prizes, each member who enters must have at least a 2 month membership (signed up before the end of August) at NZFF before they can enter.

All the best to everyone, lets see lots of entries guys! May the best man win! ninja.gif

Must be a lot of ag work in Marlborough at the moment! Ray Patchet comes home to Omaka in his freshly imported PZL Dromader after a hard days work. Why is this a mean machine you ask? Any aircraft that is this big and has the undercarrige bolted on with four bolts per leg deserves this title!

I dont join anymore because to many people are just editing their photos making it impossible for any other people without photo shop to win. It was better a couple months ago when no 1 edited

If you look at the winners of the screenshot competition (in the Community Discussion Forum), most screenshots win because they are an excellent shot with minimal editing, rather than an average shot with a lot of editing. Go check it out. winkyy.gif

Don't be too down.
Use GIMP.
I wish I had Photoshop but I don't and someone recommended GIMP. It can actualy do anything Photoshop can do and it's free.

I would tend to agree I prefer the shots that aren't overly edited with photshop etc, but are real shots taken from the sim. But don't give up I got in the top 3 last month with my shot and it was not edited as such.

Just a thought but because Dan has made some fantastic repaints, why don't you have a theme next month for who can get the best 737 shot or something (so as to allow room for those who don't download) or if everyone can download (they should be able to, NZFF is a website) you can have a Dan's repaint theme.

Sure, I was going to have his ZK-FRE as the theme for this month being 'Green Machine' but swapped it to 'Mean Machines' at the last minute to cater for a bigger auidence. Seeing as he has released a few more repaints, we might as well set it for Decemeber now smile.gif
