My dads flight is delayed because it,
plus all you have to do is look at the domestic arrival and departure board on the internet for AA and the wellington flight are cancelled

Might be on the 12pm news.

EDIT:
It's a 172 that has flipped on the runway. Called dad and I don't think there's any serious injuries. rolleyes.gif

according to the story at Stuff its a light plane... both occupants OK...

I think the best quote is "Inspector Chris Tate, of Wellington police communications, said details were still sketchy"
"Son, we are about the break the surly bonds of gravity, and punch the face of God." -- Homer Simpson

Done. But how does a aircrfat 'flip' exactly? Are there some horrendusly strong crosswinds down there today?

I hope one of our Wellingtonian members get's some photos of it!

I was on the 10am Qantas flight from NZAA to wellington, got as far down as Wanganui when the Captain said we were returning to Auckland due to the Incident, continuation of flight delayed 'indefinitely' on landing, screwed up a series of planned meetings for this arvo, but thats the way it goes, glad the 2 occupants walked away safely smile.gif

From the Herald site ''CAA spokesman Bill Sommer said it was understood the Cessna 172 was taxing to the runway for takeoff when it flipped.''

Must have been a wind gust that flipped it

It's in the VA hangar, I'll have some photos shortly.

Apparently with the flaps down he turned sharply and there was a big gust of wind simultaneously which flipped it or something.

Had to drive up, drop a 1900 crew off and pick another crew up. They're all awesome guys too. What a bugger. tongue.gif
Although after 4 hours of driving I'd had enough..

NEWSFLASH! tongue.gif
Turns out it was a Soundsair scheduled flight but Andy Crawford (Manager of Soundsair) is making it look like a Wings over Whales thing so Soundsair can escape the shame.. Tell everyone you know.. They stole our Night Freight run when we still had a year to run on the contract! B*stards! laugh.gif
