Incident at NZPM

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

I was looking at the weekly accident report on the CAA website and noticed that one of the Massey Cherokees (MBF) had

QUOTE
veered left off sealed runway 07 at NZPM during the landing roll and passed over a shallow ditch and through a fence collapsing the nose gear[/quote]

Any of the Massey guys got pics or more info? I did not see/read anything in the news... so I guess it was a bit of a non-event in the eyes of the media dry.gif

Ill post up a pic in the next few days. Not really much of an incident, control was lost and the aircraft went sideways...

Aircraft not in a good state unsure.gif

P.S. Taken with my phone fully zoomed in, so hence the bad quality

Bummer- was it a right off?

Do you get big marks ticked off your PPL for doing things like that, or does it not nfringe your licence at all?

Nah it should be able to be repaired, they're already at work on it.

Nope, things only get marked agaisnt your license when you break the law, this was an accident so no action agaisnt the pilot at all.

Kinda feel a bit sorry for the pilot... thats gonna be hard to live down!

On the bright side, everyone walked away OK... you can always replace a plane (or its parts)... not so much a person...

It's been a week of embarassing accidents.. Forst the 172, then this, then my cousin crashes his (once) beautiful Mitsi GTO on the Rimutakas..

At least it hasn't been boring :D
