Frame Rate Help!

Hi All, My sliders are not maxed and are somewhat low compared to what alot run on. To get better frames would i be beter getting a new Processor Or Video Card? Im running FS9 non-updated

grab the fs9 update also.

With my system i can get a soild 65fps with everything maxed.

Before you fork out on new computer stuff, have a look at this tweak guide thingy, it can get you some better frames. Just don't go overboard, only do the ones you're comfortable with, and back up the stuff you tweak.

Maxed out i get from 4 to 7 fps >.<

He has resized a lot of textures including clouds and autogen which should help speed things up.

Problems with scenery you've installed can also upset the balance. I use a flight sim manager to check my scenery config for errors. Your computer might be fine to run the sim better, but problems in the FS9 framework itself can slow you down..

What are the specs of your system? Processor/RAM/Video Card I mean.

The better video card you get, the faster FS is going to run, provided your base specs are above a certain point.

Processor: Mobile AMD Sempron
Video Card: SiS M760GX
RAM: 384 Mb

if you have the money, go for a full upgrade.

If not, go for ram.

What MB is the vid card?

Thanks Albatross That Helped its increased to 10-18 FPS with full auto-gen

Im not sure if that ram is correct that was in the my computer properties, then under manafactured and supported by asus.

i just did a search for "SiS M760GX" and found that its a laptop vid card, Can u confirm if your on a laptop or desktop

I think you'll find that the video 'card' is also using shared mem... so of the 384Meg of system memory, anywhere up to around 128 is being shared for video.

To be honest, I would think twice about even running just WinXP with a web browser/basic office apps on a machine like that (eg. 512Meg RAM would be my bare minimum for WinXP)... let alone something that needs lots of CPU grunt and a decent graphics card like FS...

If you want to improve the framerate to a 'decent' level (eg. 25+ FPS), you are going to need a new computer...
