I was very tempted to take some photos when I was up there recently but decided that I had too many other projects to finish first!

Damn Timmo !!
I could have used those.....................
All ive got so far are some aerial shots, unfortunately, a bit hard to tell the architechture, colour, and purpose of the building, when all you can see is the roof !! (hangers are a bit obvious though )................

All I can say is that Thames is bascially a big flat field with a scattering of huts along the eastern side. It will proberly be exteamly simple to build for you ;)

This airfield scenery will be purpose built to fit into the old FS2002 Godzone photoreal scenery for the area.
Can anybody familiar with the place, positively identify any of the numbered buildings in these 2 pics................

I'd recommend holding off until I re-release the old Coromandel scenery -- it's all realigned to fit the mesh properly. I don't have a release date, but I'm hoping for before Christmas.

Thanks Rob,............ only just started on it.................
If its realigned to fit the 20m mesh properly, then i wont have to worry about trying to tidy up all the levels that are just a wee bit out in 20m !! It will be worth the wait,............
Hmmm, might have to re-visit my Pauanui Scenery as well when youre done,...............

oh that reminds me Rob- Ill send through the Coromandel Aerodrome scenery tomorrow- Ive aligned to the LINZ orthos so it should fit well (depending on the transformation that was used)

Ive only added a few library objects so it will need autogen to complete it.

Hey Rob, as well as the obvious of the levels etc at Thames, will this realignment also cure the "climbing water" on the cliffs at Pauanui ??

Lawrie, we handled a few insurance claims for the row of buildings closest to the main road in July. You can have pics of them in a damaged state if you like lol.

11's the clubhouse. It's fence around an outside courtyard was destroyed
10 and 9 are the Aeroclub hangars (9 is a rotten old structure that shouldn't have been standing in the first place, it basically blew apart)
7, 5 and 4 are private buildings - 5 lost its eastern wall
2 is a half round barn design building that houss the aeroclub's glider - part of that roof collapsed

They told me in July that the Council wants them to relocate all the buildings on to the other side of the runway but it's meeting resistance with the airport members, probably cause it's basically in the Firth over there lol.

I'm bound to be up there in the next week or so and can take some pics, get names of buildings if you want.

A definite yes with the 'Roads & Rivers of NZ' topo installed, probably a vast improvement without the topo too.
