Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Recently I seem to be taking lots of short length sim flights, not bothering to take screenshots as I have always used to. However, today I was in the mood for a fairly long flight, so I set myself up with a Virgin Atlantic route flying from London Gatwick (EGKK) to Dubai International Airport (OMDB), my third amazing scenery addon from FlyTampa.

My aircraft of choice was the Project Opensky Airbus A340-300, which in my eyes, is the best looking and proportioned wide body airliner flying today. Cruising at .82 mach up at FL330, the flight took me just under 6 hours- real time of course. I passed the time monitoring the radio and autopilot systems, as well as reading through Richard Hammond’s recently released autobiography, ‘On the Edge’. I also captured the following 15 pictures:

On the ground at Gatwick:

Climbing out of England:

Active Sky on display over Europe:

Desert Arrival:

Cheers for browsing.

The Posky A340 is neat aye.

I think that Posky does good VC's, a pity they aren't doing one for their 747's

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Choice shot, kiss the tarmac. Has a real feeling of rush.
Interesting choice, Dubai scenery.
I haven't bought it yet, you reckon it's as good as the other Fly Tampa?
Does it go beyond the airport?

well yes and no charl it has the hotel with the helipad on it like the advert and there is a update for one part of the city ..the terminal itself is amazing and with a little walk you can venture around inside with banners and cars on show etc ,ai truck traffic zipping around outside and some planes lined up ,there is alot to see in this addon ,
when it was made like ages ago ,,its just like going around st maartins with a desert theme ...

I like it more than their San Francisco package, but less than the St Maarten one. The reason I bought this one was because I thought Dubai was only a three hour flight from mainland Europe so I could fly all sorts of airliners to and from this new hub- the scenery itself is amazing, you can look through he terminal windows and see McDonalds restaurants inside, with the shop banners written in Arabic. Above the passengers heads standing at the windows, you can see giant plasma TV's displaying moving pictures as you pull up to the gate which is really neat.

The city is modelled too, with the new and old downtown buildings, the Burj Al Arab Hotel and famous 'the palm' artificial islands (which I was hoping to make my approach over across the Gulf of Oman). The only thing I could be negative about is the airport feels a bit 'empty' due to its enormous size. Even with my airliner AI traffic cranked up to 80%, there are still dozens of empty gates at the airport leaving you feeling isolated. On the flipside, it's smooth on framerates even for me, so I'd recommend you get yourself a copy if you're into longhaul flying :)

I think I need to curtail my addon spending now though- I’ve been buying lots of new addons recently but only using them a few times before something else takes my interest! I still reckon ActiveSky has been my best investment of late though.
