Note to FSX users - this SP2 download is not required if you have the FSX Acceleration pack installed.

apparently so... SP2 plays nicely with Accel... you even get shared cockpits according to PTaylor...

I Installed it on the work machine but it doesnt appear that the SDK was updated like it was for Acceleration (which I installed on my personal PC)??

Has it been updated for anyone else? Acceleration moved all the SDK help into a compiled help document while the one at work is still the old html based one...??

If not multiplayer, what's the attraction of FSX for you?

They have released the SP2 SDK as a separate download... check out the downloads section at FSInsider.com

It wont be... go and read PTaylor's blog for the answer to that one... there will be no more patches, updates or bug fixes for FSX as the ACES team have moved onto FSXI... thats it boys and girls... if something is busted, it will stay that way...

The word Is That This is it for FSX.No more patches,No More updates so now we all have to live with it,like it or lump it.For some,it will no doubt be the worst flight sim ever. For me personally,My only gripe with FSX is the textures for our beautiful country, currently looking at FSscene at the moment.Has anyone had any joy with that software,I'm still hummin' and haaing about it at the moment, downloading sp2 only took me 2 nights with a dialup connection now I have to install it and see what is better or worse

This rings a bell for me - am I mistaken or is there buried in that SDK the ability to paint textures (runway for example) onto mesh?
If so, then fs11 would have sloping runway capability built in hooray!

Hmm good question. It's just the sim that I use I guess, I get 30fps and it looks okay and flies well. I still use FS9 for vatsim and flying the hercules and the saab 2000. Don't want to get behind the times, so I use FSX for most of my sim flying.

The only "plus" I have noticed since downloading SP2 is that my "saved" flights are now listed in alphabetical order!!!....wow!!

So far, I've found that SP2 is waay smoother than SP1. There were airports I couldn't even taxi because the sim stuttered so much. But now, As Smooth As! I have no idea about FPS as that's a meaningless number and I never look at it.

Fact is, SP2 performs better.

My PC is not dx10 capable, so I have no interest in that side of things.

FSX already supports slopping runways theres one in one of the missions ;) .(that is if you mean landing up hill or taking off going downhill like a topdresser pilot)BTW I'm going to wait since I think Acceleration might appear in my christmas presents so I can wait 3 sleeps.
