FSX acceleration gamespy problem

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

I've found recently that Gamespy has a problem with FSX acceleration it tends to boot you off claiming that you are already logged on with another computer. Anyone got any other methods which might be better than gamespy for multi-player? I've also since discovered an awesome online mission for acceleration involving Hornets and a canyon run. :arrr:

I've never had much joy with the FSX-Gamespy set-up. Right from my first attempts to play multiplayer on the internet it's been a lottery as to whether or not I get booted off for being logged on with another computer. I've just gone back to revisit multiplayer and now I can't even get on (same problem). I haven't tried fiddling around with Hamachi or virtual IP things yet, but that might be a solution...

Last night.......

FSX Multiplayer experience.

20 minutes simming and about 2 hours trying to get Gamespy to work. Same problem, kept saying that I was logged in onto another computer. Tried adjusting firewalls and connections, all with no success. Gamespy website was hopeless and no help at all. Found that it is a very common problem, and that there might be a solution for it:-

Spent so long trying to reconnect and find the problem with Gamespy that I have not fully tested it yet but I did managed to get one multiplayer session going.

Hope that this helps,

smooth landings.

The people who fly online here use mostly VATSIM, or the Inspire FS server with the NZFF Teamspeak. There is also a smattering of IVAO chaps as well (MattNZ for one winkyy.gif).

Yeah it can be a bit frustrating but I've generally found that when I'm actually in game it won't kick me....it usually happens in the server selection or when trying to join.
