Whatever we do, can we not make it FSX only? Friday night maybe?

I was definately thinking we would cater for both 9 and X (and probably 2002 would work as well) with the FSHost software. A downside to using that is that FSX guys have to download a small piece of software for it to hook up properly.

Any other ideas on how we would arrange it?

I suppose a good idea would be to find the actual date of NZFF's birthday, and it is ..... 26th April, around midday. The 26th this year falls on a Saturday. Good enough evening for a flight? :)

Yep, just like we have had the last two Trans-Tassie flights hooked up. Leave it to me and I'll be able to sort out all the finer details ;)

you can bring in ZK-AMY trolly. I'll take my uncles one, ZK-DAK[/quote]
Is your uncle Geoff Cooper then Max? I was rather hoping to bring in DAK, but I suppose we could have one of us flying the new paint scheme and one of us flying the older D-Day livery version.

Sounds great! Count me in if you've got room for an Me 109 or an FW 190 B-)

 Obviously! Who else am I going to shoot down in the Mark Five?

Date sounds good guys! FSX would be ok, but I don't think it runs terribly well on my machine....I'll see closer to the time. And the idea of flying in from home base, flyby and circuit is EXACTLY what I had in mind....that's one part of the fly-in idea that I love. I mean, imagine meeting up with someone en-route! How cool would that be!

As said before, I'm quite happy to just participate and leave the organisation to those more familiar with it....and perhaps the Screenie Comp of the next month could be set around the event?

Another great idea- I'll set that theme aside for the May competition!

I reckon we should have the server running all day, password protected of course, and let members fly in to Paraparaumu from their local real world airport, or let everyone pick another close by destination, then arrange a meeting time- say 4pm where everyone will fly in together, park up, and watch each other do fly by's and short displays. Perhaps we could end the evening by all 'low-and-slowing it' down to Omaka in Tiger Moths, like you wrote about in your article Zac? :P

wouldnt mind showing up in the flying kitchens (c-130, P-3, 757) if anyone wants to get up and practice some heavy formation flying.

Great ideas here. Try to avoid over planning, something broad and open will be perfect.

Something to think about is aircraft, we may need to make a list of aircraft everyone intends to use, then others can make sure they have them if they would like to see them properly. something as an option, I'm not that concerned, but an option for that might be nice.

Something relaxed, will go down well.

Thanks

About the whole FSX-FS9 thing, we could just use the inspire server, and have the FSX people use the FSHost client thing. It worked for me when we did that Trans-tasman endurance thingy in the Cessna Caravans. That way everyone's on the same server, and everyone can see eachother.

Or was that the idea?

Fantastic idea! I'd be very keen on that! Formation Tigering would be cool. I have a full display for the Spitfire Mk.Vb planned, but I'm still content to go Shuttleworth-style with some gentle flybys etc :) .

Re heavy stuff, why not? I originally forewsaw JUST warbirds but I think they may not be as prevalent in our community as I was thinking, so perhaps having the aircraft more open would be better.

Article......you haven't seen the latest Sport Flying magazine, have you Andrew? ;)

AND if we can do FS9 and FSX, I'd be quite pleased. I'd hate to miss out due to having a less-than-ideal PC.

PS - I'd be wanting to arrive as soon as possible. DAWN RAID!!!! :D Would be cool to fly some "intercepts" and escort you blokes (and any blokettes) on their way in.
