Scenery library of common objects (Fuel pumps etc)

As i was walking home last night I thought that it would be a good idea to establish a common library of objects that are similar/the same at locations around NZ. This would reduce the individual work load of the designers and also make managing these objects easier.

For example: Airport fuel pumps and tanks are pretty standard at all the airports ive been to so it makes sense to model and texture these once and have all scenery reference them where appropriate. It doesnt make sense for each developer to model these everytime, nor does it make sense to have multiple copies of the texture sheets etc for each airport installation. (i.e changes can be made to all the fuel signage in NZ if, for example, Shell changed its logo would simply be a case of releasing an updated texture sheet).
It would also allow beginner users (i.e. that dont know GMax etc) to make less generic aiports by using a combination of these instantly recognisable NZ objects and the default FSX objects.

Effectively it would be like our own version of the RWY12 library.

Some ideas for objects: Airport Fuel pumps and objects (extinguishers, signs, vents, lights), common road signs (i.e as used in airport car parks), light posts, telephone/power poles, common large format retail businesses (Bunnings Warehouse, the Warehouse etc), shelter belt trees (to avoid place multiple tree objects to make a shelter belt), petrol stations (Mobil, Caltex, Gull etc), NZ specific common buildings (barns, milking sheds etc), NZ specific trees common around airports (macrocarpa, flax, toi toi, cabbage trees)

Timmo , exactly my thoughts ! , Lawrie airports good example to get weeded off Rwy12 , replaced for general generic NZ building ,shed ,hanger,fencing replacement as we go long , build and send to replace earlier object, times , not truly photo real but maybe custom building at request .

Couldn't agree more! This is indeed one of my original plans for this group and goes in line with the don't reinvent the wheel philosophy.
