Ashburton and Mandeville

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby K5054NZ » Mon Feb 04, 2008 10:16 am

Hi all!

Until I muster up the courage to get into scenery design - likely to be never - I'm wondering if anyone's done Asburton - which has a fair amount of warbird activity and a museum - and Mandeville - home of the Croydon Aircraft Company, the masters of DH - ?

Now I know the attraction for them must be fairly minimal for payware, which I TOTALLY understand, but have any of you freeware folks contemplated it? There's bound to be some simple Tigers good for AI, maybe a Yak-52 for Ashburton? Likely to happen?

Also a more realistic Masterton for we warbirders would be nice :D

Yep ZK-AMY will live there once they have the 'Superhangar' ( I think that's what they called it :P ) is built. They're looking for donations to help- I'll try and find a website/phone number.

I meant for the museum :D
It's an awesome little surprise in Ashburton, there's a tonne of awesome aircraft, including a Harvard, 2 Vampires, Harrier (Yep a Harrier Jump jet- she's a runner too) a Canberra cockpit, an Airtruck, a Porterfield 35W, a Devon, a Yeoman YA-1 Cropmaster, a Hughes 269C, a few gliders, a RR Merlin and Dart, a Bristol Hercules ( Bristol Freighter engine) and a main wheel of a Herc :P
Plus much more. You're not a true plane nut if you pass through Ashvegas without stopping.
