Man! I would like a cockpit (if we become multimillionaires, my mum has promised to buy me a flight experience 737 cockpit ^_^ )
but when I get my new room I will try building a cockpit (which will only be in the form of a custom made pilot's seat and maybe a custom built 737 quadrant as shown in PC Pilot)

Hey thats a great project towerguy.
Are you trying to replicate a certain aircraft o just a general cockpit?
Love to see more shots of the great build.

Happy Building

Great job.
This would be an excellent project if I had the space, the money, the time, the willpower and the determination. Oh and the mother's permission.

I imagine this would add the extra element of realism - combined with FSX, some decent addons, photo-realistic scenery, some great models and a powerful system... it would almost be like the real thing. (Only minus actually flying).

Cheers

Towerguys Beech Baron Project

supposed to be a recreation of the fictional Baron ZK-TGY as being flown around the world in 'Towerguys world tour'.

the original project was just the panel which was up in the study, about 3/4 of the switches were wired up and along with the throttle yoke and rudder pedal combination it really made it a lot more realistic. but you still had the feeling of "I'm still sitting in a room in an office chair at the computer" so after reading up on a few of the other projects out there on the web I decided that I could have a go at this too.

most of the materials are from the local hardware store or from scrap left over after renovations on the house - this all has to happen on a VERY tight budget. I have my eye on some of the input /output cards on the market and I bought the book about making aircraft instruments and will try giving that a go - it seems pretty complicated and I don't know how I'll get on with the programming side of things but...

all in all it's going to be a long and ongoing project , not just something knocked up overnight so I guess if I take it slowly and think carefully at each step I just might make it. one things for certain though and thats - if I don't start, it will never be done!

How are you doing the panel (I've 75% done a 1:1 737-3/4/500 captains panel drawn on cardboard).
Are you going to make avionics or buy real ones and use those?

Your project is coming along nicely. Would be good to see some more pics!

If you love your Rum then i would highly reccomend this. Less burnt characters and so smooth. mmmm

Have a straight shot of each and you'll see the difference and the price is about the same.

Anyway, so jealous of your building skills, couldn't hammer a nail straight if i tried.

Maybe you should go to VN. In the war market (which all was fake) they had avionics (they even had a throttle quadrant) but that'd set you back a few thousand dollars.

just a couple of shots as I work on the side walls

have now done the starboard right front and have started on the cross sections across the nose

if anyone visits an airfeild and manages to get access to a baron then I would be grateful for any measurements they can get - especially of the main panel and any of the rudder setup ie pedal size/spacing etc.
cheers

Looking for a 'cheap' 3 lever throttle/prop/mix unit for your cockpit??

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Aviation/a...n-145088789.htm

note: nothing to do with me, I just saw it on TradeMe and thought one of the cockpit builders might be interested...

Looks very much like a unit out of a 400 HP Fletcher

Hello team,

I have been working on my current TA-4K sim for the past couple of years. Sadly I haven't had too much time to spend on the thing :(
