Ohakea Open Day

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby Alex » Fri Feb 15, 2008 7:53 pm

Just wondering who's planning on heading up/down to Ohakea on the 16th March for the Air Force Open day...

I will hopefully (probably) manage to get down.

Where'd you guys see the details about this? I only know it's happening via this site.

I live in NZPM and haven't seen any ads around here for it.
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

Hi Bandit,

Drove past Ohakea a couple of weeks ago and the sign was out on the highway.
Should be awesome.

We had another thread for the Open Day here: http://nzff.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5846

Yup, sign is up at Ohakea, and also mention in NZ AeroNews. In fact, I drove past Ohakea not two hours ago and the sign was there, so it should all be go.

I'll be there with bells on. And NZFF tee.

Globemaster - so you're not as keen on the C-17s then? ;)

The master of the globe won't be my ride this time around unfortunally. I've instead had to resort to having a burn in the C-130 B-)

I had no idea anything from AU was going to be there. I was always going to go, but knowing the C-17 is gonna be there means I'm THERE.

I believe the RAAF stuff to fly at Wanaka will be there, I know for sure the F-111s and C-17(s) so logically the Caribou too! Doug Brooker's Spitfire of course, and some other civilian stuff too. Looks like more of a real show!!!

Looks like a nice line-up, although the 757 is conspicuous by its absence; I was really keen to see it again.

Looks like I'll be attending, seeing as Whitianga is cancelled due to bad weather. Everyone who booked a seat on the Warbirds DC3 for that day were offered seats down to Ohakea as a refund, which I gladly accepted :D

Excellent (not about Whitianga), but means probably some more NZFF guys down at Ohakea which will be neat.
