Tim Sullivan said once at a Young Eagles meeting that DOT or EBX might be going up there to help out with the planes or something like that.

Excellent! It'd be nice to see some of the MAC folks. And Scott, could you say "Hi!" to Tim for me next time you see him? I'm out of money to txt 021s, darnit!

BUMP!

So, any other confirmed visitors? Due to the greater warbird presence I'll probably opt for Whitianga, but if I can wrangle a ride to/from Tauranga I'd still love to go.

Hmm, looks like I won't be able to make it as I had planned. Have just found out that I am busy on the Sunday from about 10... <_<

To Tauranga?......Whitianga's looking more likely, and I have to admit more attractive simply due to the increased warbird presence. I know veteran aircraft aren't everything.....but to me they come close!!!

That being said, I'd still love to make Tauranga and check out the Classic Flyers Museum, as well as meet you, Paul.

Yea Tauranga - cant make Whitianga unfortunately otherwise my preference would be to go there - the Classic Flyers Museum is worth it though!

...warbirds really aren't my thing... ;) . Nah, they're all good :P . For me it just means driving 2-2.5 hours there, get sunburnt, come back, and work would be a bit pissed that I'd taken pretty much the whole of the 16th-25th off if I did (its really busy there atm)... ;)

So no, I don't think I'll make it up to Whitianga...

I am going, and so is Daniel. One of our school friends may also be going.
We might see some of you there. :plane:

Tauranga's not too far from ROT, so it's not too much work for us to go.

Cheers

Yer the website is extremely vague. Date and time and that's about it. http://taurangaairshow.co.nz/.

QUOTE (Airshow Website)
At this early stage of planning it is not possible to know excactly what aircraft and pilots will be performing in the airshow. However we can assure you an action packed show that will include many of the following from our previous Air Shows.[/quote]

It's two days before the airshow, and they still don't know? At least they haven't taken people's money but are still waiting for resource consent...

Just come Back from the Tauranga Airshow.
It was great, the highlights being the mustang and vampire.
I also went for a DC3 flight and a Bell 47 Flight.

Cheers

Yes, would be good to see some photos! I saw a variety of Warbirds aircraft leave Ardmore this morning, presumably on their way to Tauranga. Oh well, should hopefully make it to Whitianga.

It was great.

The vampire was a real highlight of the day - pretty loud though (at least from where we were at the airport).
I would have liked to go on the DC3 but I didn't have $60 on me at the time.

Thread of pictures from the airshow.

Cheers
