My dad has said i can not learn to fly a helicopter until i am 18 because he thinks i will crash. i have tried explaining to him that it is less dangerous than driving a car but he doesnt believe me.

Well, thats a right he has over you there. Not a lot you can do about it unless you can persuade him to change his mind.

In other news, do we have a troll?

How old are you?

I started flying when I was 16 and didn't crash

Some others here started even younger than me and are fine

So is it the danger of helicopter flying or the danger of YOU flying the helicopter !!!

My dad banned me from girls with tattoos and piercings when I was 16.

Life goes on - there are more important things in life than what you think you want. Parents have been there and only have your best interests at heart.

His father has a point.

I know hippo from school, and I wouldn't let him fly a heli either - when we were reading this thread at school, hippo asked Daniel (or all of us, I can't remember) what the stick between your legs was called.

Clearly he meant the stick between your legs in the helicopter, but we found it funny for obvious reasons.

Cheers

Hehe yea my parents ban me from heaps of stuff to,
Girls (Altogether!!)
Driving (That has now been lifted)
Leaving school (Still stands)
Spending my own money (Only on 'junk')
Making a living out of music ( :( <_< :( :poo: )
Playing Metallica so loud the neighbors complain (Still dont understand why  )
Bunking school (That one is also strange ^_^ )

There parents and there looking out for you dude, My advice would be work realy hard at school then once you have left at the end of the 7th form join the airforce as a rotary pilot and you'll be sweet

Wouldn't recommend that... It ends... expensively.

I really don't remember being banned from anything. I was warned of certain things such as:

Girls - Will spend ya money or get pregnant.

Drinking - Will make you do stupid things (boy have I learnt that one the hard way).

Driving - Don't speed or drink.

Flying - All I heard was cool I will be the first one in line for a ride.
