Yeah i gotta admit i was suprized to see the same old buildings ,they dont to me look updated at all from the voz prob where all the flps come from ,still it is alot better with the tiles and work they have put in and if you are flying anywhere else its just amazing and really is worth it .
i think "opinion" its a really good effort ..

Ugh... those first couple of shots of the Sydney CBD are truly hideous... :poo:

Roads not aligned with photoreal etc... and as for the model of the harbour bridge... well, the less said about that the better i think...

Its not Photoreal though remember.....its just updated ground textures so youll still get those alignment problems. I agree about the bridge model though....the fs9 one looks better

Mmmm well I suppose that's another discussion.
I am reminded of Gallipolli, and other impressive Naval Bombardments that achieved extremely little, other than to forewarn the enemy that the Cavalry was stupidly going to land and charge at the well-fortified defences, the moment the Big Guns stopped. ;)
Mind you those 13.5" shells do make a nice Bang! :arrr:

ORBX blurb:
"Pilots will be able to conduct VFR navigation exercises in the simulator due to the accuracy of all topographical features, terrain and landclass. Offering hand-built coastlines, rivers and an optional complete road coverage"
Looking at the pictures, seems roads are the main issue...

Did you have the "road coverage" enabled?

One of the features quoted is that smaller airstrips are rendered in high detail for very low flying.
What's your experience of that?

At the moment we are all trying to see what the Big city's had to offer , I started viewing this from Albury , but it was not what others wanted to see , ORBX-VOZ is so big the city areas alone , turn the autogen on , whack the detail up , This is were i see the frame rate issue , it was to show , I keep'd the Autogen sliders Maxed , compare that to others screen shot , heck i reduced/pushed the detail in perth , car traffic is at 15% , anything less well least around YSSY would be incorrect !
Ill look at small town again , shortly , the hope from Albury/Wodonga to Wagga be cruzy , ..... got a little critical , the coastal , another time :)

That's probably what you should aim for. FSX runs ok on my system. I'm a bit miffed at how slow it is, but I guess it was to be expected. I average around 15-25fps with most settings at the high end,but you need to do a cr@p load of tweaking before you can get it to something desirable. For example, if I didn't care about autgoen I'd be flying along, but I want it, so I have to make other sacrafices.

I measure 50% drop in large city areas

There is Kerosene in "Wingman's" veins, instead of blood. :arrr:
When he exhales, people nearby smile and say "Ah, Harvard Exhaust!"
You may sometimes have difficulty in keeping up with his lexicon, but stay the course, and learn something.
(There is a great deal to be learned there...)

Ian, looking forward to some shots of the countryside airstrips up close and dirty, it's meant to be the strength of this scenery I understand.
