Sunday Night Ops for 13th April 2008 - Main Trunk Routes NZAA <--> NZWN <--> NZCH

(Click on images thumbnails for larger version)

This Sunday our SNO (Sunday Night Operations) is our ever popular MAIN TRUNK routes, flying between the three main centres of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

With ATC planned from 19:00 to 23:30 NZST how many sectors can you fly in this time? Know how the real world pilots fly with maximum 30 minute turnarounds and jostling for air bridges and parking areas.

The average time for each sector (block to block) is only 1 hour and so you'll be working to meet the deadlines and get the passengers back for their working week so set yourself a challenge and see if you can manage several sectors.

Pilots, book your planned flight schedule in vRoute to let everyone know how busy the skies over New Zealand will be.

How do you think the rest of us learned?

1) Sign up on VATSIM. Here Choose "oceanic" in region

2) Sign up on the VatNZ division. Here (Use the VATSIM ID you just received (or if you already had one, that one) and put that in the VATSIM ID box)

3)Sign up on the VatNZ forum. Here

4) Read these and download software Here

5)Read some "pilot training" on the Vatnz forums. Here, and here

6) Also, I found these helpful: these

Questions? fire away!

Really hope to see you guys there! I'll be online somewhere, I haven't decided what flights to book yet. Might take NZ090 from Christchurch to Auckland first (it's the Sunday 777-200 flight for Air NZ) and then back to Wellington or Christchurch in the 737-800 for Pacific Blue perhaps. The last few weeks on vatsim on sunday have been great, I thoroughly recommend it. The controllers in NZ are FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. Not only in how good they are, but also how patient and flexible they are. You'll be in good hands. Make sure your comments have "newbie" included, and if you can't do anything they ask of you, tell them, they'll find a way to help you. That's what a good controller is there for, to help you :) Remember that and it's not so scary :)
See you sunday!

Hey guys,

You can count on me and my old Beech1900D... is there any other regular multiplayer event nowadays. I'm so keen to do it even daily...My wife will have to divorce but there must be sacrifices ;) Anyway,...i've seen that the last thread in the "I'm planning to go online" (or something like this) was back in February. I'd be more hten happy to form a little group for guys and gals who are keen to have multiplayer fun more often. :plane:
