Licence Renewal

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Hi all,

My wife has shocked me and said she feels guilty about keeping me out of the air.

I now have her consent to renew my licence. I have a life time licence. I have not flown PNC since 1995.

Does anyone know what procedure I will have to follow?

I know a Medical will have to be completed, but what next? Will I need to re sit exams? Maybe only Law?

Next where would be the best place to complete the flying and BFR?

WU has no instructor. Maybe PN?

Just checked, my last med expired Jan 99 if that means anything.

Cheers

Derek

I had a quick look at the rules and it would appear that you have to satisfy 61.35, 61.37 and 61.39 which is doing a medical, satisfying the recent flight experience requirements and doing a BFR.
I take it you're in Wanganui? If so I suggest to ring Air Wanganui and talk to Peter Oberschneider (I think I spelt that right). He's a current A cat and also a part time flight examiner with ASL so should be able to answer all your questions.

Cheers

you will prob have to sit air law since it has been over 5 years, get a new class 2 medical and do yr BFR. As far as I know, peter ober isnt doing any training up there, he is flat out with other stuff (air ambo, gps, flight tests etc etc), there is a B cat there who could poss do it, (works for eagle but dunno who)
