) However, I’ve uploaded some other assorted pics from my trip here, some aviation related, some not:At the gate in Auckland- the ticket said we would be on an A320, but we got the 767 instead

On the ground at Rarotonga International

Palm Grove Beach where we were staying- this is where I was sitting this time yesterday!

Same beach, taken from about knee height in the lagoon

One of the islands of Muri beach

The Saturday morning market in Avarua, where we bumped into just about everyone who was on the flight out there

The Rarotongan equivalent to a traffic jam

The Cook Islands version of St Lukes Mall

And their Beehive

Shipwreck on the rocks at Avarua harbor

That’s centigrade being measured on the left!

Sunset from a beachfront restaurant on the west coast

Found this amusing bumper sticker in the airport carpark

The main terminal at RAR

One of the domestic Saab’s parked up on the ramp- I was gutted to find an email in my inbox when I returned from Air Rarotonga offering me a jumpseat ride out to one of the outer islands and back while I had been there!

The 777 for our flight home, I’d never been an Air NZ -200ER before and loved the new IFE!

‘Downtown’ Avarua from takeoff. The slight haze at the bottom of the photo is the heat blur from the huge RR Trent engine mounted a few metres infront of our seats in row 56

Climbing out over the 2140 foot high island skyline

Clouds over the Pacific Ocean- the return flight took 4 and a half hours due to headwinds blowing right at us from NZ

PS: None of these pics are edited, the sea really was that blue, and the sand really was that golden- a real tropical paradise! I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer though, the island is actually very tiny, only 30km in circumference, and we had done everything there was to do. Plus, I was missing the internet and need to catch up on the latest posts in the forum!

... ok the
Great pics Trolley
