Speakers, headset, same time.

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Hey guys.
Is there any way of having both speakers and headset working in snyc with each other. I would like them to play the same sounds at the same time in other words. My brother and I get tired of wearing headphones all the time.
I have a Creative XFI Music
and onboard integrated sound.
So 2 possible sources of sound.
the headset connects like headphones connect to an Ipod/mp3 player, i.e. the jack thingy, NOT usb.
So is there a way. Bear in mind it is for general use.
thanks

Could just get a double plug for the headphone jack ? or there are sound cards that will split the sound like mine ..cant really tell without looking but those are the simple type answers

check to see if your soundcard has both line-out and headphone out sockets... then you just connect the speakers to line-out and your headset to the headphone out socket...

if you only have the one output socket, then you'll need a doubleplug... they're a couple of bucks from dick smith or jaycar etc.
