Great news for Palmerston North!
Bit of a rocky start for Ozjet so far, but if they can pull it off then it will be nice.

I bet PMR Airport will be happy - they've got non-Air NZ service back again.
At least someone has confidence in PMR again. Hopefully OzJet don't pull out of PMR again.

Cheers

They have to put in before they can pull out again!

I'm not sure if my views are shared by other locals here, but at the moment I'm unmoved by all this talk. Show me a scheduled OzJet flight departing from Palmerston North with fare-paying passengers on-board and I might think differently.

All I've seen so far is one article saying Ozjet are prepared to seriously consider reviving plans to start up trans tasman flights into Palmy. Even if that does go ahead, there will be a period of re-negotiation, then the 'subject to regulatory approval' delays, then of course PM airport has to re-instate all the intl infrastructure they have recently closed. I'm picking there won't be plans for a flight before 2009, and who knows what the cost of fuel could do in that time.

Forgive my total skepticism here, I've been burnt in the past.

Nothing is actually happening yet. Will locals trust them if it does return?
Palmerston North will be happy but still cautious at the same time. They dont want a repeat of last time.

Your absolutely right  (and so is greaneyr).
Locals will be happy, but cautious and I'm sure the ones who were burnt in the past with OzJet will be especially careful.
Does anyone know if OzJet compensated those who were affected when they left?

Cheers
