Sweet screenies, jeeze FSX is starting to look/sound appealing.

I think I'm getting the copper-virus too. Have been finding myself spending much more time buzzing around exploring new scenery downloads etc. Last night I spent a couple of hours installing/configuring/testing AI aircraft and flight-plans for all the airlines that used to fly into Kai Tak (HKK) and the best way to check who was showing up around the airport was to roar around the airport in a chopper (H500d) after every restart.

Great fun, hovering round the 747s and checking out their liveries and positions. Try doing that in a fixed-wing. biggrin.gif

Only way to check out an airport, you'll get flying skills you never knew you needed!

Good post Mike, nice to see choppers well represented in X

Cool shots mate. thumbup1.gif
My favourite is the shot of the RAAF heli, but the one of the nose of the heli by the ship is cool too.

No problems guysi love anything chopper so you will mostly see that from me ,a lot of people give up to soon on them in fsim and practice makes perfect ,be it short haul or long haul you can always stop on the way ,
also you really got to understand the flight dynamics of them they are not really pulling you forward all the time like a fixwing you tilt it to move foward/back/side to side ,hover is the best way to start learning this ,with little inputs ..
relisum slider is your best friend in the sim ,slide it all the way to the right then back one to 99%
and turn the dead zone off none all the way to the left /then all sensitive to max "right"
all you fix wing fellas would find you mite be able to control the plane more with these setting by the way ,dont got oh i cant fly this now and change it back to quickly "give it abit of time to get use to "
thanks for all the comments glad you like the shots will post more of my heli collection when i managed to get more time on the sim ,you will like the abacus havac set with army choppers "the fire "old but still works fine in FSX

Mike , i'll download in morrow , if i can , take a different approach to viewing it , pulling all the sliders back .. the gold area 'QUEENSLAND' .. John Ross , this mans scenery is gorgeous and has his name in ORBX project , any FSX with his name - love to see how it match . smile.gif

Funny enough i have sliders pretty average and i still get the normal 25flps standard ,i mean if you look at it all the right way or what i call right i have more trees than i need even on normal settings ,more so than i ever had with sliders right in Fs9 ,my water is wicked and i love it ,with addons like Orbx RealNZ nemeth and many others i still get really good frame rates ,plus add some low traffic i have cars boats to die for in Fsim world ,,i really dont see anymore all the battle over this subject ,
As said by some you not really lowering your standards by bring back the sliders ,how can you be when you have all the above plus more if you want it.. still there will be hardware issues but that will change and so will the sim so you can enjoy all this wonderful world i now live in ..
Theres a slow down in addons for FSX in NZ because there are so many that have not moved forward because of all the bad stuff that is or has been said about it "minus the hardware issues "but the ozzy have lap it up taking to the full swing of things into there own hands and making it work for them ,they are now at the leading edge with 2 really good addons so far and freeware designers "pics above of just some of it "
could you image NZ this way with REALNZ addons fitting in and people pushed into designing more and more ,
I think this will happen here "soon " i dont really know thats upto you guys ,but we are already behind and there will be alot of catching upto do when NZ catches the bus
Just like the PS3 XBOX Blueray latests car Ipods cellphones newests games addons etc ppl move forward , Just takes longer for simmers to do ?
im not getting of topic here well you mite think i am but i posted these shots and choppers just to show that FSX is worlds ahead and the past can still be had aswell best of both worlds
dds textures new modeling technics are making things actually alot better on your PC making the experiences alot more fun and as real as it gets ..
3.0ghz ht old P4 cpu
upgraded Graphic card to 8600GTS 256mb cheap as a night out on the drink
2gb ram
i mean not a very good system to some but it works and work real good with anything ive thrown at it ...
enjoy the pics guys there will be more as i have the time just hope there will be more of NZ
cant wait for the CT4 winkyy.gif New_Zealand_etc.gif
