Here are a couple of photos for your interest.
The Thunder Mustang photo was taken following Warbirds Over Wanaka 2008 and the Staggerwing was flying in the Mandeville area a few months ago.

The Beech Staggerwing has to be the most beautiful plane ever. Your shots do it justice superbly!

Great picture

You never fail to impress me everytime.
Man, i really like that Beech Staggerwing. I saw it down at Wanaka and I thought it was a real great aeroplane.

I have still got 25 website updates to do this year and more with future flights so there are heaps to go.
Have had a really good year and a lot of fun.

I gave Keith Skilling a head on photo air 2 air photo of the Corsair when we flew up to Auckland a couple of weeks back to photograph the Spitfire and it bought a huge grin to his dial and thats what its all about.
In fact he wanted 6 more copies and I was going to give them to him but he insisted on paying so have a bit to spend on a few jars at the aero club bar this weekend.

We have four air 2 air flights planned this weekend so hopefully the weather plays the game!!!

Just out of curiosity Gavin, do you do Aviation Photography as a full-time job, or as a bit of a hobby?

Funny , keep looking at the Beech , .... the prettiest B17's had a large fillet added to the tail to increase rudder control and many other weight changes from the C's to the next models and updates , you look at the early 17 .. nah its not right .. new model add the extra area and it really suited the design and stayed with it till the end .. I wonder how the Beech , with a superbly blended tail unit almost fitting to a B17 would have WOOOO'd the crowds ..... the curves would have been near smack on

Would be best described as a part time job now.
I spend all of my leave days during a12 month period away taking photos but have a day job to support it as we all know flying is not cheap.
I probably spend 20 hours per week on it now doing various things like updating websites, writing stories etc so by the time I do my 50 hours of work it gets a bit tiring by Sunday but well worth it!!!!!

Could probably be a photographer full time but dont want to be in a position of having to make money from it in order to put food on the table and I have a lot more fun that way.
