Wow

Not much left of it now. This is the caption from the photographer:
"Kallita Air 747 operated by Centurion Air Cargo, departed this morning at 3:50 am declaring engine fire on the 4th engine. It began a go around procedure trying to land in El Dorado International again. Unfortunately it didnt make it."
Apparently it ran over a house, so RIP to the inhabitants and anyone else who died.

Even if Centurion was operating it with their pilots, it's still Kalitta's aeroplane and still sad and stuff.
I didn't know this was the second Kalitta aircraft that crashed... heck.

Acording to the wikipedia it was one of the engines that killed the people in the house

Shouldn't the airline be grounded by now?
Two 747s down does not look good.
The company probably pose a threat to the public's safety

Best wait for the final accident reports first - they may have been completed unrelated circumstances that led to the accidents. Having said that, I have heard (very) anecdotal suggestion that Kalitta's maintenance is not the best. I do recall a few years ago one of their 747s lost an engine over the US, and by lost I mean quite literally - it detached from the aircraft in flight.

Man now that would be scary! But quite amazing, Its like that Chalks Mallard two completly diferent aircraft but the wing on the mallard completely riped off during normal flight, What happened to the 747 engine, do you know? Would have been one hell of a thing to land on a house or something...

No Q , the Grumman ripped his own wing off in defiance in being caught in the 'George Micheal Careless Whisper' music video !
