No second invitation needed.
Pilot Andy Love it turns out is a flightsim enthusiast too.
And has a share in a Yak! Avgas in the veins, I've come across a few...
Anyway, he was very kind, and did his best not to separate my oesophagus from my rectum.

Andy posed the JAG Pitts for some photos





There is no Pitts in MSFS that I know of, so next best would be a quick work over for the Christen Eagle.

Master Eagle skinner and Forum member Chris Brisland is putting the finishing touches on the repaint, as we speak.
Maybe a better composite video will emerge, who knows?

Before this turns into a very long ramble, the conclusion:
Do not hesitate if in the neighbourhood. Actually the first time is like an avalanche, so best to do it twice...

What type of Pitts is it i think I saw a model on a while ago

How the heck did you get to take the photo from an angle directly above the aircraft in the second shot?? You must have been directly overhead somehow

Must have been absolutely amazing over the Queenstown scenery though, nothing beats hanging upside down in the front seat, looking up at the ground!

After I went for a spin in the Pitts S2A in Auckland, I bought the S2B from 'pure-flightsimulations', the closest model I could find:

However, the company does not seem to exist anymore, thier website is down and google can't find any other places selling their products...

the Pitts is a blast.
Flown in them several times and 5.5g, yip been there felt that.

Most memorable flight was with Tom Middleton after one of the Wanaka shows.
The Spitfire was taking off and we were at 1000ft inverted not far from the runway, quite a sight.

Might be doing a bit of flying with Andy and a couple of others next weekend so will psot some result is the weather plays the game.

Yeah..Andy moved it under the balcony of the Wakatipu Aero Club balcony. and I leaned ...out, lucky I didn't fall on the aeroplane and bend it

aha - soo thats where you have been. Sounds great and something I would like to try one day. There is a Pitts been made for FSX by Sibwings which if its anything like their Saab Safir should be a very good model -might be a long way off though

Hey folks,

Nice Pitts there! It is an A model, just the smaller IO-360 up front, identical to the Christen Eagle. I have done a bit in the B and an S1 also, and it is very different that's for sure. The A has a narrower cockpit, not quite as punchy in the climb, and not as long in the vertical, but commercially they are absolutely identical, they fly upside down! The A is certainly more challenging to land, it has alot more float, fining off the pitch o nthe B is like throwing out an anchor, it just drops!
gidday charl, had a busy one over the last couple of weeks, today I spent my smoko breaks in the Yak, making as much noise as I possibly can!
