That promotion's been going for a while, people who are daily Grab a Seaters will know.
The mascot thing was a bit weird, but it was a nice promotion.
There were flights from nearly everywhere, but not Rotorua - we always get left out which is a shame.

I think these fares were a result from some sort of sports mascot race, and seeing as the rugby mascot from Napier won, it was $2 fares in to/out of Napier. Unfortunately I missed out on the $20 fares from Dunedin to Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch sad.gif

Over in the UK, they are doing flights from London to Stockholm for just £1 on Ryanair.

That's flying on the new 737NG's as well- can't belive the airline is making a prophit!

What have you got against Rotorua? tongue.gif

Oi yes. Such prejudice Tom.

As for Ryanair, they wouldn't be making a profit on that flight obviously but they would be making a profit overall.
I'm not sure how they do it either, but it works.

There.. fixed that for you...

You dont think they sell an entire 737NG worth of $1 seats do you???? Obviously, the sell a few at ridiculously low prices... and make it up with the rest... much like the way you can get $100 one way fares across the tasman every now and again... the travellers who don't want "use it or lose it fare" conditions... and those sitting in J-Class make up the difference...

I always found it hard to fathom how I could be sitting next to someone in Economy who paid like $400 for a ticket I paid $100 for... but that is the way air ticketing works...

I also heard a rumour that outfits like Ryanair and Easyjet got kickbacks from the towns/cities/airports they fly too... coz they fly to the out of the way places/secondary airports etc...
