Some adventures of A185F

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

I thought I would share some of my flying vids here as some of you fallas might be interested to see... stuff. Anyway the crowd I'm workin for are closin down so I thought I would take some video to remember a bit of the flying. These are only from the last few days and you will have to excuse the poor quality (movin, shakin, not seeing much) as i was trying to do my job as well as film. Also the camera was antique and had a problem of just randomly turning off. Anyway this one is goin to wellys an back, has the start and all the cockpit bla bla and checks which some may find interesting. It was pretty windy so there so couldn't film take off and landing. Some nice sun and scenery an views an stuff.
The 2nd one (once it loads to youtube) is just a local senic on sat. Was fun.
Due to the cheesyness, I will prob take these down some time.

Yep... I soooooo want to do this as a job!

Bonus points if anyone can identify the nav aids winkyy.gif

at around 2:21, I think I got HK (Hokitika) but the "flatulence" on the intercom is obscuring the last bit of the 2nd letter...

Then at 2:28 it sounds like an 'R'...

Then at around 6:30 I get what sounds like 3 characters... W, S and N... ??? There is a cut in the video, so I'm wondering if it just cut in the middle of the nav ident...

There are others... but some incosiderate people keep talking through the movie and it is hard to hear! winkyy.gif

Here is the second vid. This was a local VFR flight for the weekend which was quite nice. 200kts at less than 1000ft (in some places) in a 6 tonne aeroplane is not done that often (civvy anyway) around some nice country. Was with some 20 or so noisy little girls from the local girl guide which you may be able to hear at some points. Thank goodness for noise cancelling headsets !! laugh.gif (and chunder bags... dry.gif )

Sorry no more of this flying. Camera too crappy. Have a few vids of some real flying in the 185 however I would have to edit out some potential "naughties" as may be viewed by some before I could put em on the internet....

Hahahaha... like 2 secs in... "Greymouth Traffic, Air Wes.... ahhhh correction Victor India Romeo is rolling off 01".... talk about 'Mind Sets'... hehehe I do the same thing but with runway designators... at Ardmore you get used to flying off 03... 03... 03... 03... 03 errr correction 21 smile.gif

The only reason I write this, is because crappy XTRA Go-Large is running at about 7k/s again tonight... so it is taking forever to load the video and it loaded just that radio call!

yea ya get that. I spent 18 months flying just one plane (with a few odd doodles in others) which only has a 2 letter callsign, so callin anythin by its real name is still a challnge after that one
