Hi, just got the DVD drive. It says though:

QUOTE
For IDE optical drives, configure the drive jumper to set the device to either Master, Slave, or Cable Select mode before installing it into the chassis[/quote]

What does that mean?

It installed all right but when you put in a DVD, no sound comes out. What do I do to fix this?

Out of where? the jack on the front of the drive? or the computer sound card?

Sorry.
As it turns out this computer didn't have an MPEG-2 codec. (after I uninstalled nero... long story)
Does anyone have any links to any free codecs that work?

I found K-Lite to be getting a bit bloaty and full of rubbish you did not really need... dry.gif

Personally I prefer the Combined Community Codec Pack... CCCP...

It will play anything you throw at it and is relatively small at around 6 or 7megs... also has Media Player Classic, which is nice and clean... unlike the bloat that is Windows Media Player...
