FSX autopilot keyboard commands

Hi, just have a question.

Is there an add on or is there a command hidden away in FSX that allows you to change altitude or speed and assign it to the keyboard.

I can change the heading from left to right using the keyboard keys but can't find the command to change the altitude and speed.

AS im getting sick of changing it using the mouse

Thanks.

Under the FSX Settings - Controls... if you look under "Event Category" - Autopilot there are some settings there...

There is an 'Altitude bug (select)'... which allows you to select the altitude switch and you then adjust by using the + and - keys (note: use the ones on the main keyboard between your 0 and backspace keys... not the numpad!)

Unfortunately, there is nothing for speed (apart from turning the speed hold on/off) that I can see... Although if you have a registered copy of FSUIPC, you can assign keys to various AutoPilot panel functions...

ps. 1000 posts! ohmy.gif I spend too much time here!

I dunno about FSX, but in FS9 FSpassengers does that for you. The manual tells you what keys do what.

OK ok I know this is an ancient post. Please forgive me :-)

You can find a list of event IDs at http://blackiceair.net/SDK/Core%20Utilitie...aftAutopilotIDs.

The way to use these event IDs is described at http://www.jimspage.co.nz/fsxinputs.htm

The basic idea is to find a file called "standard.xml" and to modify the relevant existing entries or to add new entries. In the case of 'speed' I added the following:
<Entry>
<Key>CTRL+I</Key>
<Down>AIRSPEED_BUG_SELECT</Down>
</Entry>

So now I press CTRL+I, release them both and then press '-' or '+' on the main keyboard - not on numpad - depending on whether I want to increase or decrease the AP speed.

Below are a few unused key combinations I found in the FSX default key assignments.
