Black and White Hueys

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

These are just some of the shots that did not make it into the competition this month.
As an ex black and white photographer these really appeal to me. I'm not very good at this but I have tried to increase the 'real' feeling.

I love this shot, It very nearly made it in to the comp rather than my other entry.

This next one feels quite real to me, but is a tad too bland. Added a touch of motion blur to the houses to kill the awful FS9 autogen feel.

This one makes me laugh, taken moments before plowing into a house ... note the speed, pitch and altitude. An experiment in different forms of blurring the image. The cockpit is blurred with a touch of motion blur, while the scenery has been hit with zoom (radial blur).

And finally, playing with FSrecorder. Like the 'photo' above this, the cockpit has been cut from a different screenshot.

Can't think when last I saw a B&W screenshot, welcome change, and quite possibly the best way to do a night shot in FS.
A bit of graining up also adds "realism" to the look.
I'm sure you'll let us have some more along these lines, great look!
PS Great competition entry too, right choice I reckon.
Combination of view angle in 2. above (better rotor), and lighting of 1. might be a winner though clapping.gif

Cool shots. thumbup1.gif They look good in black and white and with a bit of noise/grain added.
Motion blur is good, it kills just about everything that looks odd, which is why I use it so much.
Gets rid of the autogen tackiness and any bad jaggies and stuff.

I swear my sense of humour will get me in trouble one day (ok, more trouble than it has thus far .... which on reflection has been quite a bit).
