Does anyone know of any risk free addons/themes/mods that make XP look like Mac?

I found this: http://www.flyakiteosx.com/ but I'm not sure of the risk.

When I installed a Vista Theme for XP, lots of stuff happened, presumably linked. The shut down button of the Start menu disappeared. My documents loaded up always when i logged on, and other stuff I can't remember. Not sure if it was just that site, but I'm not going to install any more themes.

I used to have FlyaKite, but it seriously hogs computer preformance. There is no other good themes. Its the dock that really takes up all the power.

Just buy a mac..

Completely agreed. I tried Flyakite, and although it's relatively decent, it takes up a lot of memory, and makes things run slowly.

If you're looking for different themes, I think WindowBlinds has some Mac themes winkyy.gif (Payware).

Search Google for uxtheme.dll

That's the file on your PC that limits you to using the original Windows themes. You can replace it with a version that will allow you to apply other themes the same way to apply the defaults, using no resources like Windowsblinds etc.

I used to have flyakite osx for everything except the dock. then for the dock I used vista insprat transformation pack. It was heaps more customizable and less of a hog. if you plan on ever getting it back to normal xp look I suggest you make a system restore point. hope this helps
