Introducing Nigel Booth,s ................. RNZAF CT4E AIRTRAINER

I started a multiplay session yesterday morning , leaving it open found another enjoying the model , Welcome Darek

As Flt-Lt Hayden and myself took off ...we slowed to let our new No.3 in the formation

Far better performance than the early CT4 .. this thing is as zippy as a pocket rocket

our No.3 joining , all the way from Poland , residing in the UK

Amazing and brilliant model ! Thanks Nije

with comms working , smoke , the hardest part is keeping formation for the screen shots

Time to break and return to Woodbourne

Yeah im TS and will be around most of the day ,if i dont answer straight away im just up to something and will brb ,i dont mind starting the host on gamespy ether at NZWB...that back view you have there looking outta the vc is what i was looking at most of time ,makes life alittle harder doing formation looking backwards but this plane just stays put if you need it and flys well ,the roll loop was the best to watch out the back window as you see you both going up into a near stall ...thats the money shot right there

Yep It was great fun- The aircraft is stable enough for good formation work ("good" cough* cough*...It's harder than it looks!) but maneouverable enough for some good fun.

My lack of proper pre-flight planning came to bite me in the bum- I had thought we were only going to be pottering around NZWB but ended up going to Picton and Wellington and back (with a bit of fuel-burning fun in between).....I had only loaded 50% fuel to keep lite for aeros

I ran out of fuel with the coast of the South Island in site, throttle closed, mixture lean, prop feathered ignition off and fuel #### closed.......I managed to glide and land on the beach (I have no idea what best speed for range is? I was using 70-80kts?)

Ill post the pics tonight when I get home (and look at your guys- Photobucket is blocked at work sad.gif

Good fun though

You were going around 80kts from the looks of it (was stuck to ya wing the whole time) the ct4 is quite sensitive with the ailerons which can prove interesting sometimes
