Here's my entry (for now):

I did quite a few flights in the CT4 and the Hercules this morning and afternoon for the screenshot competition, taking lots of shots (Link to some shots).
So many possibilities I found it hard to decide which I'd enter. I played with a 'collage' of sorts, which looks okay, but I'm still not sure.

I was just thinking that the other day Ian. The reason why I use it a lot apart from the fact that it's very good is that outside of custom made scenery the rest of NZ according to FSX is absolutely terrible to look at let alone fly around in laugh.gif . I would gladly pay to have realistic terrain textures for all of NZ. There's no mention from ORBX that I know of that they will look at doing the same to NZ as their AU series. The only product that I'm waiting for is Ground Enviroment X textures for rest of the world which would cover NZ as well and that could still be many months away. So in the meantime the only place I fly in NZ is between Picton & Wellington. Thanks Robin. winkyy.gif

...and not only here. I see this popping up in all sorts of places.
It's geometric: you publish screenshots of stuff this good, people pick it up and spread the word.

Yea, I reckon it must be some of the most viewed scenery in NZ from the amounts of screenshots that always crop up here, and in other places.

Simply reeks of a job well done. Nice work Robin!

You could always just 'roll your own'...

It will require a bit of investment in terms of time and learning... but it is actually relatively easy to make your own photoreal sceneries... and the tools are all freely available... hell if I can do it, anyone can! smile.gif

and as long as you're not distributing it, I dont think google are going to complain ninja.gif

It may not look as good as the stuff Robin puts out (but as long as you can live with the odd shadow here and there, you can actually turn out large chunks of photoreal pretty quick... the only reason my FoxpineX took a while, was because you tend to fly around airports quite low, you need to get rid of the shadows etc...

For general countryside, from a couple of thousand feet, you're not really going to notice too much... and I am fairly sure it will look better than the default FSX!
