A Flightseeing Trip

After spending some time in Queenstown for some well needed R&R I decide to head to the spectacular Milford Sound area today. My ride will be ZK-MCD, one of the Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander's operated by Milford Sound Flightseeing.

Warming up MCD along side sister aircraft ZK-DBV

Taxiing to the runway...not very busy at NZQN this morning.

Having said that we have to hold short for an incoming Cessna tongue.gif

Soon enough we are in the air and leaving Queenstown behind.

The scenery for this flight will be quite mountainous and we must be very alert....

....but it will also supply very spectacular views the whole way!

The little Islander performs beautifully on the trip. It is an ideal aircraft for these flights.

Soon we begin our descent and prepare for our tight approach into runway 29

Coming in to land at NZMF....one of the more spectacular approaches I've had to make!

Parked up and disembarking....Welcome to Milford Sound!

Cheers
Florian

Great series Florian, that would be Marcel Kuhnt's excellent Islander, still excellent after all this time...
Now if Nunner is right, you started out next to the oldest NZ-registered Islander, been around maybe 30 years or so!
