Whilst here at this idillyic location I just had to take a Helitour of Milford Sound itself, Just a quick run up the Sound out to the sea and back. Only a short 20 minute trip but with sights that will last a lifetime in the mind!! New_Zealand_etc.gif

Our Bell 206 JetRanger ready for clearance out of NZMF

Hovering above Milford Sound Airport, a tiny facility tucked cosily into the canyons and surrounded by quite a bit of water too! No room for error here! ohmy.gif

Making our way slowly up the Sound, To the left is Mitre Peak.

A closer look at Mitre Peak...stunning scenery

But does "stunning" really suffice?

Tracking up the heart of Milford Sound wub.gif No wonder it has been called the 8th wonder of the world!

Looking out over the Tasman Sea

Swinging around to head back we see the Fiordland region in all its beauty

Easing our way back down towards the airport....what a magic ride!! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did clapping.gif

Cheers
Florian

Haven't been down there for a while, you have inspired me to go have a look again!
Miford Sound is a good test of texture set - the poorer ones make a horrid streaky mishmosh of the canyon walls.
Your shots look very good Florian, what textures do you have loaded?
