Welcome to Turangi Airfield, 1nm North of the township of Turangi, at the southern end of the
beautiful Lake Taupo, in the central North Island of New Zealand.
The airfield is home to the Turangi Aero Club, and is served by Mountain Air, undertaking tourist flights
around the National Park and central North Island volcanoes, and flights to the Chateau and skifields
at Mount Ruapehu.
This scenery is built to fit into the freeware "Turangi" photoreal area scenery by Robin Corn, freely available
from avsim.com, filename...... godzoneturangi.zip .
The scenery also contains an OFFICIAL GNZLAP traffic file update by Charl Du Toit.

Cool. I went past there last year. You got the tree's accurate!

I have to say you make it look a lot busier and more used (in a good way) than the real one. The real one is like a rund down shack laugh.gif

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Yet another great scenery Lawrie.

Great work!! The work you do is excellent.

I will be installing this in the next few days for the fresh install of FS2004.

Very nice Lawrie, I stopped by on the way back from Ohakea in March and took a couple of shots. Your scenery portrays it in a most favourable light. biggrin.gif

Most embarrassing really,..............
I was going to do the Mountain Air Base at the Chateau airfield as well,......... and somehow i mixed the sets of pics up that ive got.
I must have been a little tired when i started placing the buildings at Turangi, and not noticed the mixup.

I'll do an update for the Turangi scenery, with suitable ramshackle run down buildings.............

Since you're going to do a reconstruction do you want me to post any more pics that I took?

Yes please Kelburn.
I know the location of the airfield itself is correct, runway, parking, boundaries etc,.......... anything you have would help,... thank you.

Im currently also constructing the Chateau Airfield at Mt Ruapehu (NZ22 in FS if you have GNZLAP), if you have any pics of that it would help to add to what i already have.

Here's one taken from the threshold of the the runway - looking north.

Taken March 08. I may have a couple more on a Flash drive somewhere, but probably won't be able to upload/post them until tomorrow.

Cheers. Sorry the couldn't be better.

Couldn't be bothered hanging around not much happening that's why I didn't get any more shots around the "terminal"

Great Shot s Tui and Alex , it photos like that give a better idea of what or how it feels .. i'm no these could be used by Lawrie as a blueprint for all the small community airstrips , shows a real farming /outdoors atmosphere . cool.gif

The new "Version-2 of Turangi is now up on Avsim.
Its a TOTAL replacement of my earlier scenery.
Ive tried to use suitable "old and run-down" type buildings for the airfeild.
Apologies to all for my error..............

Heh heh,.......... i preferred the "other" one as well,.......... but we gotta keep it "as real as it gets" to quote MS................ winkyy.gif
Stiill cant believe i mixed the pics up,........... and failed to notice it !! sad.gif
The pics i mixed in with the Turangi ones were actually from the Mountain Air Base at the Chateau Airfield im building.
Yes,......... maybe late nights (or should i say early mornings), dont really mix too well with scenery building sometimes.......... laugh.gif
