OMG... I had been contemplating doing them all at once but didn't due:

a. The ridiculous timetabling that ASL has for it's Exams
b. The enormous amount of info to try to cram into my already full brain

And yeah, I'll be down the Quality Inn on the 17th bright and early for the 0800 exam start

I'll be the one in the shirt and tie as I have to go to work afterwards

ps. grats on the CPL Nav...

how'd you go?? i was looking out for ya but there was alot of people i didnt know, i was in with the big group of guys that knew each other, all ardmore students. My pof exam wasnt to bad, neither was the met exam but tech was a real ass kicker! hopefully did enough to scrap through and pass!! One more to go, nav tomorrow avo and then its onewards to ifr! lol

I was the big, bald guy with the blue shirt and tie (and the big black coat) sitting in the front row looking like I didn't know anything...

my PoF was pretty s**t to be honest... I was not too happy with my prep for it (going flying for 4 hours on Sunday probably didn't help!)... I'm not sure how well I did, hopefully well enough to pass... I am hoping the 'easy' marks for the performance section, which account for 40%, should help me get above 70...

At least I stumped up for the priority marking on the day... so I should find out this afternoon or tomorrow how well I did...

yeah i know what you mean, the way i did all my answers is by process of elimination, hopefully i did ok, did the first exam today and was nerve racking but alot of the answers were ones i had already studied up on. 1 exam down and 11.3 hours. all is getting exciting now with solo happening in the next lesson hopefully

Hey good luck with your first solo. It's magic....... right after you've had 'the' thought that is!

It's funny how may people said they had exactly the same thought go through there minds the instant the wheels left the ground as well.
What is that thought (the one I'm talking about), just to see if it's a common one? What thought did you have on your first solo (anyone)??

My thoughts when taxiing to the holding point for my first solo were "s**t did I screw the fuel cap back on?!"

(turns out I did so no harm done)

If its any help I thought that I'd failed PoF when I walked out of the exam, turns out I got 85%. It's a tricky exam like that, quite a few guys thought they'd f*ed it up but ended up getting decent marks

but practical was real good! but that's like all us kiwis we love the air work and classes haha Good luck all

yeah asl are bastards, for met i wrote a page and a half of critics and today for nav filled up the front and the back of a critic sheet all for one question, i was fumming, it was so badly written that there were three correct answers, so i wrote out what was wrong with it and then wrote my own version of the question, complete with answers to show them how to do their jobs.

All cpl exams are done now tho, just got home from hitting the beers out at ardmore, good times! they put on a bbq and beers for us, good chaps!

good stuff! i found the best time of my flying career was in my training have good bbq parties with the school making good pilot mates. after that it was running around different jobs around the country after doing a few hours met ma partner and in a secure airline job now so all works out! i found the hardest part of my flying career was getting that first job i didn't do instructor rating but i was glad in the right place at the right time "persistence is the key"

So today was the day!! my first solo

it was amazing and the feeling i had taxiing to line up was "Oh dear lord how much fuel was in here 30 mins ago

" but the instructor insisted it would be sufficient so i powered away, at about 900ft is when the yelling and screaming happened and then had a wee 10 knot crosswind to overcome wich was actually alot better without someone barking instructions into your ear

i was smiling all afternoon and was very proud when i got to put "self" for P in C in my logbook.

quickly just want to thank all on this forum that helped me and supported me.
