Hehe ... thanks ... lemme go check my shelves. I've installed some much cr*p over the months I don't know where I got what! Clack ... clack ... shuffle shuffle ... it's the Flight1 one. I'm not sure whether the NZ repaints came with it or whether I've found them somewhere since. It's fsx.gif BTW.

I have an old FS mate in Holland that used to fly them around Europe in Real Life. He got a new job flying BAe 146's so he sent me his old ATR. He *loved* the ATR - said it was an absolute beauty to fly.

From the limited time I've had playing with the ATR in FSX, I think it's a really good add-on. It's a lovely looking thing and lots of nice buttons to press!

I had a bit of fun with these screenshots - trying to capture lightning flashes etc. Here are two of my "rejects" - I had a hard time deciding!

Note to the MOD ... these are NOT entries!!

This time round, I thought I'd try and guess what NZFF'ers like - rather than wot I like (they don't always correspond!!). I think I may prefer the first of my rejects (the head-on) but it doesn't *quite* say "weather bomb" to me. I do like the front view of the ATR. It's almost as nice as a Hercules winkyy.gif

I'm more used to the combat sims (Flanker/LOMAC, Falcon4 or IL-2) so the quality of weather effects (and scenery detail in general) you can generate in FS always amazes me. Just a quick trawl over NZFF turns up stunning screenshots - everywhere! We're lucky that we live in such a photogenic country.

My entry to the Nov. competition:
Title: "Night Climb (Hdg. NE) over 90 Mile Beach, Northland, New Zealand and caught in the lightning effect from a severe subtropical storm 39,000 feet below - centered just to the West of North Cape." (FSX)
NB: Enhancement as encouraged by the rules for a dramatic effect: Lightning effect in clouds otherwise original pix. The lightning effect on the underside of the fuselage is from FSX lightning.

Could be FSX, I think that version has improved resolution compared to the FS9 one

You could try the PSS or Majestic Dash 8 although you're going to have a tough time trying to find it. Dreamwings are back in business and looks to be finishing their Q300 as well as their E-jets and a 'secret' project.
