Nice shot, Phil ... you bas*ard*! winkyy.gif winkyy.gif winkyy.gif

Glad you sorted the Photobucket thing.

Whoow! ohmy.gif I'll take this as a very friendly competitive slap on the back. Looking at your pix again now, I know what you mean. There's quite a trick to capturing the lightning flash in FSX isn't there. Psst! - took me two nights of trial and error until I found a very simple way. Anyway, good luck with your final entry. smile.gif

Unedited, except for some auto-colours/contrast and resize to fit the rules and a crop out of the Flight Sim menus.

Taken during the VATNZ VFR Flight Club event on Thursday 20 Nov 2008 around Cape Palliser.

My first entry.

Enjoy!

You could try the PSS or Majestic Dash 8 although you're going to have a tough time trying to find it. Dreamwings are back in business and looks to be finishing their Q300 as well as their E-jets and a 'secret' project.

I have yet to find a good Q300/ Dash 8 of any kind.

Downwind on Auckland, FSX, bad weather courtesy of New Zealand (real weather by Active sky)

...and yes! She still flies in X - quite nicely too, especially when the sky is all bouncy like now...

A very fine 'Weather Bomb" challenge Chris! Best of luck for this stiff competition and may the best pix. win.
PS Any background on ZK-RBE? It's just that it doesn't currently exist - did it once belong in NZ in real life?

No it didnt exist unfortunately - the model (an excellent one at that) was painted up as ZK-RBE to promote Christian's mesh and topo package that was called Red Baron Entertainment - now called the Sim Pilot Experience

I use the FSX built in snapshot tool - it's quicker (pres "V")

ALSO - Active Sky X thunderstorms produce more interesting lightning that flickers longer.
