After spending so many hours in 'bugsmashers' over the last few months, the time has arrived for me to find out if I can remember how to fly the heavy iron!

I've finished my tour of New Zealand now and am leaving your lovely country, sad.gif but I will be back for sure in the not too distant future! New_Zealand_etc.gif

The flight taking me off across the Pacific would be NZ0010 from Auckland to Honolulu in a Boeing 767-300

At the gate I just take my time to re-familiarise myself with the B767...makes a big change from a single-engined prop laugh.gif

With 2hr delay due to unforseen circumstances, We finally are pushed back and ready to taxi!

Holding short at 5R with a regional partner B1900D

Watching the Beechcraft depart....we are next up!

Powering the Boeing down the runway....Rotate!

"New Zealand 10 heavy, contact Auckland Departure"

The passengers get one last glimpse of Auckland...

Up into the clouds already!

Over Great Barrier Island, passing through 17,000ft.

Cruising at 30,000ft...time to relax..The cabin crew serve our passengers lunch

The strong afternoon sun gets lower in the sky....

....and begins to set

A lovely view of the very last light of the day

Enjoying the peaceful darkness of a night flight over the ocean.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please return to your seats as we are beginning our decent into Honolulu"

Getting closer now....switching on our landing lights!

On final for runway 4R

Disembarking our passengers at PHNL. Unfortunatley we did not make up too much time en-route. Still just on two hours late.

ALOHA HAWAII!

Cheers
Florian

Thanks mate.

In these shots I use a mix of World-of-AI and manually installed traffic. On my system in general I'm also running GNZLAP, a cut down version of VOZ AI and a very small handful of Project AI military packages.

I love it too much in "virtual New Zealand" to stay away for too long!! laugh.gif I will still be posting the odd non-NZ trip here for the time being until my 'return' biggrin.gif

Nice shots Florian, the Pacific hauls in the 767 are some of my favourite flights in the simulator. smile.gif

Auf Wiedersehen Florian, I do hope you return sometime soon and thrill us with your screenshot series- I've enjoyed browsing through them over the last few months very much!

Like Alex said, it is good to get a few long haul flights in there to mix things up- how long was your route? Bet you said it to autopilot and only checked back every few hours for a screenshot ay? tongue.gif

BTW- Ironic that you should be flying into Honolulu as me and my mates just finished watching 'Forgetting Sarah Mashall' that is filmed on location, and even features PNHL!

The route was about 8 and a half hours or so....I actually like to sit at the controls through the flight to answer ATC requests and the like wacko.gif ninja.gif I did this flight in 3 stints of just under 3 hours each laugh.gif

I'm going to go completely off topic here- how frikking funny was this scene:

IMO, Russell Brand is the best comedian in the world right now, although in Forgetting Sarah Mashell, he wasn't that funny (it was the yanks doing the British accent that cracked me up). Not everyone will like his style, it's very eccentric and 'mighty-boosh-eske', however his Dogs With Dogs standup sketch on youtube is definitely worth a watch!
