I have a real interest in war history so i like to chill out and read endless books on anything from medieval to present but am particularly interested in World War 2. At the moment i'm reading a great book called 'Bloody Shambles' which is all about the defence of Sumatra and the fall of Burma. Word for word accounts from our boys about their battles in the Buffalos, Hurricanes and Blenheim's.

Im like a clock ... I always promised myself at least half dozen good books each year ... been a little slack in recent .. only 2 , one tho Jagdgescwader 53 by Jochen Prien is enough to fill that gap .. after that i follow Capt-Herc's interest .. Warships of the world .. WW2 in scale model , or what ever comes to fancy , but then time runs out .

You buggers ... To the tech bookshop tomorrow ... need time , more info

Not counting Flight sim? Hmm... not much lol
Xbox 360 - currently hooked on Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion. Most of my spare money however is spent on travel but I do enjoy building model aircraft from time to time, have a 1/32 P51D Mustang on the go at present. But with 700 hours sim time a year, and probably double that on the web, time is short for other things rolleyes.gif

I know! I bought the PC version (with expansions) about this time last year and I find I'm still loading it up a couple of times a week to muck around on it. It's very immersive, a help is the various mods/add-ons you can find online for me. smile.gif

Interests outside of Flightsim.............
Well besides scenery building for FS,...

Im into TrainSim in a big way, and im also into Model Railways (modelling British Modern Image 1990 -2000 in "N" guage).
Im also into motorsport (V8 Supercars in particular), and have a love affair with classic performance cars of the 70s.
I also build model trucks in both 1/24th and 1/16th scale, (currently 62 trucks in the collection)....... a passion that my wife also shares with me, as well as the Model Railways.
Finding the time to fit all these hobbies and interests in (as well as others) between work and family commitments can prove to be very challenging at times.....

Unfortunately with Xbox I'm not sure of the addon situation, but 'immersive' is certainly the correct word Alex. I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've played about 35 hours this week alone, and even dreaming about the damn game at night laugh.gif

Real world flying - haven't been doing much lately because of school

Real world PPL exams, 2 done so far, doing Human Factors atm.

I'm into ICT in a big way - programming - web, system, and software levels. I also spend a lot of time surfing the web, particularly forums and blogs about ICT and aviation tongue.gif

I've left school now, but I was supervising the maintainance and some of the security for the school ICT network - a very big job that I was involved in for the last 3 years tongue.gif

Cycling - I live right beside a big park, so I often go biking in the evenings.

I also like reading fiction books - I read a lot of novels in a year tongue.gif

outside interests, i build model cars, trucks and planes, not that i can do much of that, need a compressor, playing the xbox 360, getting a wee way on with need for speed pro street, got gears of war 2 to start yet, spending time with my wife and finding a little spare time to write reviews, Also like reading about ww2, as alot of my model subjects are from that period, oh and most of my spare time is taken up driving the volvo truck for that thing that allows me to indulge in my hobbies!!! (i.e. also known as work, but i am playing with big tonka toys really, so can't really call it work!!!)
In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

Hahaha, I know how that feels. The hands on the clock seem to go at double-speed when I'm on it. Very nice to chill out and relax with - you can completely drift away. smile.gif And the gameplay, plot/story, characters, AI, locations etc etc etc are really spot-on, very high rated game all round. thumbup1.gif from me. winkyy.gif

Hunting, Shooting, Tramping and Fishing with a bit of acoustic guitar thrown in when time permits.

Bit hard now with two daughters aged 5 and 7.

Though I did just get back from 4 days in the Kaweka's. Flew in with Lakeland Aviation in the 500D.
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

smiliz2.png Hunting/Shooting. Pretty much anything on the noxious pest list. Rabbits, Hares, Goats, Wallabies, Deer, Magpies. Happiness is a warm gun. Just this morning I dropped a big goat with my .243 at 320yds, neck shot. Been watching him for a week and had to get up at 4:30AM to catch him at dawn. I've got not a bad arsenal .243, .17 HMR, Shotgun and by the end of the week hopefully a 5.56 semi.

Arn't chickens on the wanted pest list? tongue.gif What next in the arsenal an uzzi! now that would make a poor shot accurate.

Spare time.....hmm Spare time hmm...... Well not much spare time these days with running businesses and creating business opportunities, land acquisitions .....who said recession!! Some or part of my spare time is still simming, working at Flight Experience evening shifts. Windsurfing when the winds up and real flying, but not much of that of late. Also been having great fun building PC's. My latest project I have decided to give some of my money and time to charity and invest into the community more than usual, as it is hobby HERE New_Zealand_etc.gif

To be honest guys im suprised most of you actually have spare time, when i see most of you on here, most of the time. tongue.gif
