Thanks to all for the congrats! Naturally, I'm stoked!... the teletype certainly adds to the drama (thanks, Andy/Alex <?>).
Sadly, the banner format limits your choices somewhat - as some pics just don't crop that well. Here's the full pic ... showing you how ugly it really was that night!
I think a split second after the lightning flash died away, it reverted to 99% doom and gloom! The first officer peered into the darkness, smiled .. and calmly hit the "turn crash detection off" button

Thanks Frank (& Phil)! Good clean fun!
Panavia - each time I see your signature, I'm reminded of another "Frank" from Germany I met a couple of times at Su-27 Flanker LAN meets in Holland. His nickname was "Killerbee" and he used to have a highly customised *armchair* (with his throttle & sticks screwed to the arm-rests) - which he used to put on the roof of his car and travel all the way to Holland. A lovely man - and great fun!
Are those FS9 Aermacchis in your screenie, Frank?

Thanks - I wonder if they'll work in FSX? Great pic, BTW!!!

Thanks Fred - I'm going to have to get a larger sized helmet if this carries on! I must say I've enjoyed these competitions. It's great setting them up in FS and it's great to see what everyone else comes up with.
Not trivial prizes either! I'm not exactly well-off (ie. I'm probably the only NZFF member that *doesn't* own a plane![]()
) so any prize I may happen to win would be *greatly appreciated*. Also, I can smile sweetly to SHE-WHO-MUST-BE-OBEYED and say "but I won it in a competition, dear! (and *that's* a nice dress you're wearing)"
Come to think of it, it's worth it for that alone

Well done Adamski I am not that well off either I just hope that this govt doesn't stuff up the National Super again like they did last time.
As for winning it in the comp tell your sweet lady that it is going to be you Christmas present but don't forget to get her something nice too.
