Gods, am I on a war footing with the JF Tiger Moth Paintkit!!! That model is the WORST mapped model ever - and I can back it with facts. But...

...but even so, I won't give up. It's now taken me two years to get here and I will finish it for you. It won't be perfect, or even acceptable for me, but I think you'll like in the long run.

I promised you this skin almost 2 years ago - I'm getting there...

Let's put it this way, every separate fuselage panel is to a different scale in the paintkit, even to the extent that a 1 pixel line on one part has to be 10 pixels on another bit, 3 on another part and 1/2 wide somewhere else. Other parts are cross-mapped on the texture sheets - for instance a shroud around the lower cabane struts picks up texture from the engine access panel.

It is godawful, but I so like the plane that I have even corrected the number, layout and types or ribs on the wings...

Oh, P.S.

Does anyone know if BAT is dark choccy brown underneath, or is she golden?

No hurry, I have a couple of years ahead yet...

Crikey I thought you gave up with this! - 10/10 for persistence. Looks great so far. - I guess this would be the only repaint you doing for this a/c smile.gif

The best photo I could find would appear to indicate that most of both of the under wings are golden not brown - the centre tank section of the upper wing appears brown though. See here.

Since its based in Masterton somebody should get some more photos of it at the airshow in January (hopefully I can make it).

Looks good to me, thanks!

At this rate I should finish it in a year to five... (No worries - I have sussed the hardest part now - the panels around the nose)

If I leave out the wing outlining...

The surprise gets no better, when you look at the TM in DX10 mode. Of course the plane appears white, but then you can see that there are different export techniques that have been applied to ailerons and just the upper left wing. Or that the external view of the wing is chopped and diced from the VC view

I'll have some serious thoughts about adding this to Avsim...
