Sorry to go in circles here,
Guys who have this, Does it let you sign into that stupid live thing, I cant get the Rockstart club thing to work as it says my interent connection aint working when it is and the firewall aint bloking it and everytime i creat a games live account and enter it in. It declines it. owell stupid idea of a game that u need an online account to save

QUOTE
there are 2 types of accounts, online/offline
please read that. you do not require an internet connection to save. only to initially setup the game

it even says that on the "other requirements" on the box "Initial activation requires an internet connection"

that post below mine, isnt that illegal???
i think that is the last solution to be tried, contacting the GTA makers is the best idea, and the LIVE Team smile.gif

but single core is a big no no. Core Duo atleast,
i would just like to mention a single core ht is more than enough for most games out there ,not only do i run FSX i run alot of high end games with high settings and nothing has touched my 3.0 single core yet ...
Also i think the support team or a forum membership at a GTA fan site would be your best bet to get answers to your problems

also happy BBBB_day DNKIWI cheers1.gif

you have finished quite allot of open questions there creator, unfortunaley GTA IV is the only game ive found that actually is un-playable with a std single core, i havent tried a 3ghz on it but i have tried a 2.66 and that failed.

reply to post below: ive run GTAIV without a connection and works fine, saves and everything. the only difference between on/offline accounts is that with the offline you dont get 'achievements' whereas on online you do, it pops up with a tiny box center bottom when you pass one, eg: 10g, hogging the roads, completed (not actual achievement,i cant think of any smile.gif )

oh and stop insinuating that i have a pirated copy of GTAIV, i have proof of purchase if you wish too look, but please do not post about that here

Sam in order to save the game, When you start up GTA IV even in offline mode. You still need to sign into Windows live for games to save. If you have the proper version as you say you this would happen. Anyone else with this wii agree.

Also Creator, GTA IV recomends a minium CPu requirement of 1.83GHZ core 2 duo or AMD,
So yea Bye to single core pc's in this game

thx mike i know that single core can handle some mean games without breaking a sweat so i am guessing that gta4 has a ban on wireless net but i will kepp looking into that one

note gta4 has been working on my single core with photo quality graphics and dream fps
how ever i would reccomend that anyone who has this game and is wanting a single core rig to paly it

should have these specs at the very least

cpu :3.06 ghz with hypertheading

system memory :2 gig although 1.5 can also run

video memory :256 meg or higher

Ive played the game on ps3 and i really dont think that ps3 is anywhere near what my PC puts out in terms of game power ,with a single core your not only running the game you are running MSwindows process as well so reducing programs in the background will improve gaming ,the dual core will be better in one way where it spilt MSwindows and the game between the cores so there is more CPU concerntrated to the game and alittle bit for MS , but the downfall is the core is smaller in size like ie 1.6 ghz X2 is 3.2 ghz
well this is what i understand it to be ,
anyway guys im going back to work hope you fellas get answers to all your GTA stuff and blast away ,i think im at about 80% of the game complete drool.gif

the more RAM the better... i just got an extra 2 gb to boost it up a bit..... the settings all require the memeory, in the settings menu it display how much is used and how much total available. XP & background processes used about 500mb on mine. (think that was running a scan in NOD32 aswell)

@creator, i got to 90% i completed the story line and was doing all the other bits to get it too 100% but thats when i moved over to my online account biggrin.gif tongue.gif

@also creator, yes the PC obviously would be more pwoerful than the PS3. BUT. At Rockstar games they spent quite a number of years developing this wicked game they call GTAIV for xbox and ps. Due to popular demand, it has been deemed necessary to make it for PC too. At Rockstar, they didnt want too spend a few more years making a fully 'PC' GTAIV so they just ported the PS3 version over to PC, thats why its soo bad at using hardware to its max efficiency and also why some people have been complaining about bugs etc

last 5 mins, i got this shot

attempted mugging, he found out the wrong person to mug tongue.gif
(bad quality, i used the print screen button biggrin.gif )
