Well, is their a way I can setup so i will make a smoke effect work, but if I put shift+i (or anything) it will make fsx_smoke_r go.

Just thought here , quik test , do you have a model that has the smoke effect for a start ! .. best and easiest example would be to download Nigel Booths CT4E . smile.gif
From there the default smoke key is ' I ' ..... after that you can adjust to suit for your own needs .

I think its set as a trigger "I" when the model is complied ,so you can change the colour easy enough by opening the AC CFG and changing the line

smoke.0=0, -0.70, -1.50, fx_smoke_w
to

smoke.0=0, -0.70, -1.50, fx_smoke_r
of course this will only just change the colour to Red and changes where the effect points on the aircraft ...

there is other way to do this i think by making a fake gauge in the panel and creating a trigger at a certain rpm % point where the effect can be turned on and then below that RPM % point it would turn off ..but that seems alot to work out to get a different colour aswell as white to switch on

smoke.0=0, -0.70, -1.50, fx_smoke_w
you could just have both colours like the exsample above ,take into mind the effect points are the same in my exsample and would have to be changed to the aircraft smokesystem points and spread across four effect points ...

I just thought their might be an easy way to run effects.

Someone should make a guage for it tongue.gif

Anyway, thanks for the effort.

Yeah sometimes i wish there was ,its always a really hard thing to work out and then you think man that was easy once you do ,i really dont think a gauge would be the best way to trigger a effect unless it was something like black smoke out the side pipe as you ring it out .
anyway someone mite see this post and know there stuff and go bla bla heres how you do it so its no lost yet winkyy.gif

Hehe, well I was surfing around and I found a Red Arrows Plane Hawk, this has a control in the VC you can have Red, White or Blue smoke, you an even combine them and make colors like purple.

And while I'm on the subject of Red Arrows, Red number nine for this year is a kiwi who use to fly in the RNZAF, good on him!

And If anyone does every read this, It would be nice to have a panel on the Extra to change colors smile.gif
