US Airways Never Again

I had the misfortune recently to fly with US Airways, something that I am not keen to repeat ever again.

First thing is that US airport security is now unbelievably unpleasant, and not only do you have to take off more and more, but now they are even more unpleasant about it, with questions that even the Gestapo would have been proud off.

Managed to get onto the aircraft, once they had decided that the contact lens case did not contain a nuclear warhead (they even opened that!). Sat on the ground at Philadelphia Airport for 1 hour and 40 minutes, and being thirsty, rang for a stewardess to ask for an orange juice. US Airways cabin staff must rate as some of the most unhelpful around. The stewardess finally agreed to go and get me some water (and it took some persuasion even to get her to do that), but she went into the TOILET to get the water. Not only that, but she got very annoyed when I told her off for fetching water from a toilet. The service on the rest of the flight was just as 'good' and the final insult was that 'breakfast' consisted of a rectangle of pastry under 6cm long and ONE cup of coffee. It is amazing that this airline is still in business when the standards have sunk this low. Oh for AirNZ again..........

US Airways may offer passengers water from the toilet, but that made it my final ever flight with them. Another off the list.

Thats shocking service for sure ,cant belive they serve water from the bog ,well mite as well been ...
Airnz flight food or all flight food for that matter is bad ,and hardly dinner lunch or breakfast for even a mouse ..
not only do you not want to fly with them but there must be something that you could say about the water in the tolets deal ...

I have only ever flown with Qantas and i find them very helpful and and the food is good, my father is in a wheelchair and they even lifted him all the way to his seat, and from whst i have been told airnz dont even take people who a wheelchair bound.

Having just flown to London with Singapore Airlines and back with Qantas;I found the service comparison about 9v3.Singapore offer many little extras that were absent with Qantas.The food was of highstandard by way of airline economy standards.On the other hand Qantas food was a shocker,the hot dishes seemed as though they had been on the plane for several days.The entertainment system failed twice.I would recommend Emirates and Singapore.Never been with Air NZ but Qantas service is a far cry from what it was 10 yers ago.Ian.

Really dont like SQ, yeah service is good, but the staff is cold, they are helpful, but there is no enthusiasm(travelled with them 4 flights(AKL-SIN-FRA and return). ANZ&Qantas have crew that is not that beautiful as model looking girls in SQ, but the athmosphere on board is more friendly.

Still amazed that US Airways did not serve breakfast, and also offered water from the toilet. Most unhelpful and unfriendly cabin staff for a long time. Even the European budget carriers are far better than US Airways. The US security checks and questions are so bad now that I will avoid the US airports in future, and will fly home via the east instead.

My Grandmother had a hip operation in Auckland, AirNZ pushed the wheelchair from their car right into the plane. And at Wellington they pushed here all the way to us They were most helpful with her. Even with Valerie Villi on the same flight just weeks before the Olympics

Hmm really? Well I have never actualy flown with AirNZ, i had just been told that they wouldnt take people in wheelchairs for some kind of reason, cant remember what. Must have changed there mind or something lol.

I flew with Air NZ to Raro and back in Economy late last year (Oct) and food was fine. Awesome ice cream for dessert.

If this was ever true and purely down to bad PR I doubt it ever was, you may find that anti-discrimination laws may have aided in the change of attitude.......

ANZ give you a free beer and cheese n' biscuits on their domestic intercity hops, plus now they have a quiz shown on the drop down screens usually reserved for the saftey briefing videos on thier 737s

Yeah, Air Nz are quite often people putting people who are in wheelchairs on their planes now... even on the little domestic turboprops.

Yeah all airlines will take people disable , only if there are real safety reasons that they mite think otherwise , Food well id rather not eat and wait to get to the next airport ,,though this a guy who lives on coffee and smokes and if i can wait for a smoke i can wait for the BK or M,Ds at the next term ...

Well, on the plus side, if you have to land in the water you at least know you're in good hands.

In all seriousness I'm personally intending to avoid traveling through the US as far as is possible at least until they get their cr@p together and stop treating every overseas visitor like a criminal.
