Maybe FSX isn't so inaccurate after all...

I'm talking about the NZ landclass colour here! Compare the default textures to a few of these photographs I've taken recently on holiday and tell me what you think:

Lake Taupo:

Te Mata Peak:

Overlooking Hastings:

In fact, I think that if New Zealand ever decides to create a new flag, it should be a two toned striped one, with the bottom being a sandy brown colour like the dry grass covering the country at the moment, and the top being a bright blue shade representing the sky above it!

Here are some other unrelated pics that I took on the way and at Hawkes Bay last week:

Cheers,

I wonder how far you would go if you jumped into one of those holes?

It really does eh?? Even with the rocky outcrops and everything.

Love the shot of the fumarole on Napier-Taupo highway too.

Haha I think Kiwi's are just in denial of the 'clean green NZ' image that the tourism board likes to advertise the place as to overseas travelers- I certainly have many memory's of flying over the South Island (AA - CH) and seeing nothing but barren brown hillscapes for miles and miles.. I know it's a compleatly different look out in the bush though- this topic was meant to be read as a bit of tongue in cheek winkyy.gif
