Don't get me started.. Just because I want to play loud music and look like a wanker in front of my friends does not automatically imply that I am one of these 'reckless street racers' that terrorize cities at night. If that's what you were implying biggrin.gif

not legally, but i live rural so no cops round me... i drive 2 custom evo's , (one sisters BF, and other is bro-in-laws), we sometimes get together with a guy down the road who has a old school musty, lots of corners were we live so the musty is really a beast to handle.

I also don´t have a pic but it looks nearly like this one:

Audi A3 Sportback, S-Line

car "culture" is so much different in NZ.
I saw only few German cars like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, VW on the road in New Zealand.

I love the A3! Mum nearly bought one (The final three cars we decided on were the Audi A3 Sportback 3.2, the Volkswagen Golf R32 or the Skoda Octavia RS Combi). In the end we went for the Skoda as it was $20,000NZ less than the Golf or A3, had more room, almost equal performance and better fuel economy (It's a diesel). I was not only surprised at the lack of Japanese cars in Europe when we were there, but also the huge percentage of diesels there! I could almost count on two hands the number of petrol cars I saw in the two weeks spent in Italy and Switzerland.

Ich liebe das autobahn! wub.gif

When I was over there in 2008, cruising along the middle lane at around 180kph, there were always tonnes of Audis and Mercs just whizzing by in the fast lane... such a different story to driving down the Pakuranga Highway at 5.30 in the evening, bumper to bumper, stopping and starting the whole way home dry.gif

It was the same in Italy, where that was the limit! Even in the middle lane in our Peugeot 407 at anwywhere between 160-200km/h we were still being passed by Mercs/Alfas etc doing at least 30km/h more than us. Great fun biggrin.gif

gosh on a family trip through the swiss alps one time we were travelling down the mountain range on icey roads at over 70mph, but that was not entirely voluntary, our brake fluid actually boiled becasue we forgot to change it for racing brake fluid tongue.gif

kn nz i had a 1995 toyota cynos, in Oz here we have a plain but highly practical 1993 mitsubishi lancer wagon, goes harder than the mitsubishis form new zealand. those mazda 3s and 6's are very nice cars, got to thrash one back from auckland one day

well hate to say it the old mitsubishi lancer has gone to the great grave yard in the sky, she was going to cost about 2k to keep running, not worth it so i traded it in on an 1999 Mistsubishi Magna 3.5 V6 manual, jeezz this thing goes like a cut cat, espically running it on the premimum fuel here in oz, a pic of it just after we got it

it came with aftermarket alloys spoiler and has been owned by one lady owner who serviced it every 10000kms. i am in the process of gettin my motorbike licence, first bike i am looking at is a brand new honda CBR125R, that will be a few months away yet

THE OTHER CAR!!

1992 HONDA VIGOR

Stand back gentlemen! Maybe when you get some real money you can afford something like this!

Electric windows

Alpine casette player with fm radio

Broken air-conditioning

Cauldroy seating-yes like your dad's pants

Original fake leather interior

Cheap wooden varnished panelling-yes looks like your mum's piano

...and you don't wanna know how much i pay for insurance! It would make you cry, i cry just thinking about it myself!

Is the Vigor a 5-pot KBG? Never been a big fan of Hondas... well, the cars themselves anyway - their engines are a total masterpiece in engineering however wub.gif Shame they're most commonly seen in a "modified" (read: rooted) Civic or Integra driven by some backwards-cap-wearing c*** sleep.gif

Actually, while I'm here... Little over a month ago, we decided to set Jodi's (the wife) '96 Mk3 Golf out to greener pastures - just getting to the age and mileage (260,000) where things were bound to go expensively wrong (she does about 50,000km a year). Test drove a new Suzuki Swift Sport, not bad at all, especially for the money... but ideally the new car would be Euro happy.gif
Quick flick through Trademe and this was the result...

'06 Skoda Fabia vRS WRC edition - the ex-Redbull promo car to be exact thumbup1.gif
Kit supplied by SkodaAuto (the works team) and is all GRP - no metal in the front guards at all.
1.9 turbo diesel, 6sp manual and goes like hell!!! So far zipping around Hamilton and Tauranga, as well as hauling down to Taupo/Turangi, drool.gif its averaging out about 5.2L/100km notworthy.gif And thats with us being boost-happy ninja.gif

i know what you mean. Although, i find nothing wrong with the cars themselves, rather the people that drive them, and how they drive them.
